VP, Market Director, Northeast RegionSalesJob Description:The Market Director is the primary face of the firm to financial advisors across the tri-state territory, accountable for growing and retaining assets in our sub-advised mutual funds and ETFs. Operating as an external wholesaler, this individual builds and executes a territory business plan across the independent broker-dealer, regional broker-dealer, RIA, wirehouse, and bank and trust channels, and partners with a dedicated Internal Sales Consultant to cover the territory as a two-person team.
This role requires a distinctive skill set: the ability to articulate the value of a multi-manager, sub-advised platform - how sub-advisors are selected, monitored, and replaced - alongside credible fluency in both active mutual funds and ETFs. The successful candidate is a self-directed, metrics-oriented salesperson who treats the territory as a business they own.

- Identify and convert new producing advisors while deepening wallet share with existing producers
- Build and manage a documented pipeline of opportunities from initial contact through funded assets
- Serve as the trusted resource for advisors in the territory on product positioning, portfolio construction, and practice-level questions
- Deliver approved performance, positioning, and market updates, and proactively address advisor questions during periods of underperformance or market stress
- Monitor territory redemption activity and intervene early to protect at-risk assets
- Coordinate with client service, operations, and marketing to resolve advisor issues promptly
- Advance product placement on recommended lists, model portfolios, advisory platforms, and other centrally driven programs, in coordination with the national accounts team and Advisory team
- Represent the firm at regional and national industry conferences and firm-sponsored events
- Maintain accurate and current activity, contact, opportunity, and pipeline records in the firm CRM; data quality is a condition of the role, not an administrative afterthought
- Use available sales, flow, and holdings data to prioritize coverage and measure the return on territory activity
- Route competitive intelligence, advisor feedback, and product gaps back to product management, marketing, and sales leadership
- Manage territory travel and entertainment expenses within budget and firm policy
- Direct and develop the partnership with the assigned Internal Sales Consultant, including shared planning, call coordination, and joint accountability for territory results
- Contribute to the broader sales organization by sharing effective practices, campaign feedback, and successful positioning with peers

- Seven or more years of experience in asset management distribution, including a minimum of three years in an external, territory-facing wholesaling role
- Demonstrated record of growing a territory, with specific, verifiable production results

- FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 registrations, held at hire or obtained within an agreed period following start date
- Established relationships with advisors and firms in the tri-state territory
- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 75% of the time, including overnight travel; valid driver's license and reliable transportation
