Job Description BAE Systems is hiring a Vice President of Army Business Development and Strategic Customer Relationship Management to support our Platforms and Services (P&S) Segment. This role will act as the primary lead responsible for defining strategy, driving customer interaction, and leading key capture teams to win executable business with the US Army to support the P&S divisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the US Amry's acquisition processes, a proven track record of success in business development, and excellent leadership and communication skills. This role will report to the P&S VP of Business Development, Strategy ,and Planning. This position location is negotiable but ideally located near P&S HQ in Falls Church, VA and will require regular travel (25-50%) to P&S (Sterling Heights, MI, York, PA) and customer sites. Key Responsibilities:
Ensure Business Growth: Ensure new business opportunities provide ample room for the business to grow at a rate that matches or exceeds its addressable market growth.
Understand Budgeting and Acquisition Planning: Provide subject matter expertise in coordination with Government Relations on budget priorities, acquisition timelines and influence campaigns across legislative and executive branches.
Customer Relationships: Support the development of strong customer relationships that enable collaboration and serve as the lead "voice" of the customer while advising the business on key decisions and strategic choices.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with US Army customers, including senior officers, program managers, engineers, and other key stakeholders.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities that align with US Army priorities and goals.
Collaborate with US Army customers to understand their needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.
Oversee Business Winning Activities: Advocate, manage and lead business winning activities US Army product lines, from opportunity identification and qualification to full capture.
Resource Allocation: Ensure all business winning efforts are properly resourced through Segment wide demand management with talent, time, and funding.
Lifecycle Management: Ensure lifecycle management is conducted to improve probability of winning new and follow-on business.
Capture Team Management: Ensure that capture teams are properly resourced, trained, and following industry best practices. Actively participate in capture teams with solution development and proposal optimization through team meetings, color reviews, etc.
Budget Management: Manage a multimillion-dollar annual budget to support new business activities, including bids, proposal development, and marketing.
Team Supervision: Directly supervise up to ten business developers who support all business winning activity for US Army programs, including vehicle and weapon programs.

Team Development: Ensure each team member is learning continuously from both experience and training.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with others in and out of the Business Development functional area. Expertly lead regardless of level of direct control. Master leader through persuasion and influence.
Market and Customer Awareness: Ensure each team member maintains strong awareness of their markets, customers, competitors, and partners.
Strategic Planning: Support the development of strategy based on existing and emerging market changes and brief senior internal leaders on new business progress and activities.

Required Skills and Education

10+ years of experience in business development, with a focus on US Army, but with breadth across combat platforms, conventional artillery, missiles and munitions.
Proven track record of success in business development, with a strong understanding of the US Army acquisition processes.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make sound business decisions.
Experience managing large budgets and teams.
Strong knowledge of US Army programs, including combat vehicle platforms and artillery, ground based air defense inclusive of counter UAS/counter missile, and munitions.
Expert Knowledge of business winning practices inclusive of proposal development, solution strategies inclusive of technical, cost, schedule, and contractual elements, color team review practices and price to win strategies.
Ability to support strategic planning, competitor intelligence analysis, solution development, and lifecycle management.

Preferred Skills and Education

Security Clearance - Secret required, TS with ability for SCI/Special Access desired
Master's Degree
Advanced analytics and reporting skills inclusive of use of Artificial Intelligence both in customer solutions and in business management.
