Full Job Description
The role

We're hiring a VP of Finance & Accounting to lead Narmi's finance and accounting organization into its next stage of growth. You'll own the full function: strategic finance, FP&A, accounting, and all areas of compliance. You'll sit on the leadership team and partner directly with the founders and board on the decisions that shape where Narmi goes next. This is a high impact role.

Importantly, you've done this before. You'll get some quick wins on the board and apply your experience to help us scale quickly and avoid mistakes. You'll bring a seasoned view to our Leadership Team but also a strong execution-oriented attitude.

You'll inherit a mature team, clean books, and a finance function that runs well. Your job is to keep the "running well" part intact while also "setting up for what's next," whether that's continued growth, fundraising, or something bigger.

What you'll own

Strategic Finance & FP&A

  • Annual planning, forecasting, and board reporting
  • Business partnering with go-to-market, product, and engineering leaders. Specifically on pricing and margin strategies for new and existing products.
  • M&A readiness, deal modeling, and diligence support
  • Capital strategy and treasury
  • Fundraising support and investor relations

Accounting & Controllership

  • Month-end close, financial reporting, and GAAP compliance
  • Annual audit, tax filings, and 409A process
  • Internal controls and audit readiness
  • Direct oversight of accounting operations

Team & Leadership

  • Manage and develop the FP&A Manager and Accounting Manager
  • Assess and build the finance team as Narmi scales
  • Set the bar for how finance partners with the rest of the company

What you bring

  • 10+ years of finance experience, with direct ownership of both FP&A and accounting/controllership functions
  • Prior startup experience in a high-growth and lean environment
  • Track record of scaling finance and accounting organizations through a meaningful growth phase
  • GAAP fluency and direct experience running an annual audit
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Comfort in a fast-paced, founder-led environment
  • History of being a strong partner to go-to-market and product leaders
  • AI-native operating style. You use AI as a daily force multiplier. You've automated workflows, built your own tools or agents, and used research tools to compress what used to take weeks into hours. You've kept up as the tools have changed and have opinions about which ones are worth the hype. You don't need a tutorial on prompt engineering. You won't need to be taught AI at Narmi. You'll be teaching us.

Bonus points

  • CPA
  • Fintech, B2B SaaS, or financial infrastructure background
  • Banking or banking-as-a-service exposure
  • Public company readiness, IPO, or M&A experience

This role's expected annual base salary is $245,000 - $280,000. Base salary is only part of your total compensation. In addition to base salary, you will receive an executive level equity option grant, and are eligible for performance-based cash and additional equity bonuses. Compensation included in an offer will be commensurate with the candidate's skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation ranges for candidates located outside of New York City may differ. You will also receive a full benefits package.
