OVERVIEW

The Vice President, Corporate Planning role is responsible for leading Canon Medical Systems USA's enterprise planning, corporate strategy, business intelligence & insights, business development, key opinion leader (KOL) engagement, and Enterprise Program Management Office (PMO) functions.

This position serves as a strategic advisor and trusted thought partner to the President & CEO and Executive Leadership Team, driving the development, alignment, prioritization, and execution of the company's Mid-Term Plan and long-range strategic agenda. The Vice President is responsible for establishing enterprise priorities, aligning resources against strategic objectives, driving accountability for execution, and ensuring the successful delivery of key strategic initiatives across the organization.

As a critical liaison within Canon's global matrix organization, this role facilitates alignment between CMSU and global stakeholders while helping the CEO create organizational clarity, strategic focus, and execution discipline. The position plays a central leadership role in translating strategy into action, ensuring that the organization remains focused on its highest-value opportunities while delivering sustainable growth, competitiveness, and operational excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Enterprise Strategy Leadership. Partner with the President & CEO and Executive Leadership Team to define CMSU's long-term strategic direction, Mid-Term Plan, enterprise priorities, and growth agenda.
  • Strategic Execution & Enterprise Performance. Provide executive leadership to ensure strategic initiatives are prioritized, resourced, governed, and executed to achieve organizational, operational, and financial objectives.
  • Leadership of Corporate Planning Organization. Lead and develop the Corporate Planning organization, including Corporate Strategy, Enterprise PMO, Business Intelligence & Insights, Business Development, and KOL Strategy & Engagement.
  • Enterprise Governance & Accountability. Establish and oversee governance, performance management, and accountability frameworks that drive disciplined execution and measurable business outcomes.
  • Strategic Advisory to Executive Leadership. Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, providing counsel on market trends, competitive dynamics, business risks, investments, and growth opportunities.
  • Data-Driven Business Leadership. Champion the use of business intelligence, market insights, analytics, and performance metrics to support executive decision-making and enterprise-wide business performance.
  • Growth Strategy & Business Development. Sponsor and guide the identification, evaluation, and prioritization of strategic partnerships, investments, acquisitions, market expansion opportunities, and new business initiatives.
  • KOL Influence & Market Leadership. Provide executive sponsorship for CMSU's KOL engagement strategy to strengthen clinical relevance, innovation, thought leadership, customer relationships, and market positioning.
  • Global Matrix Leadership & Stakeholder Alignment. Serve as the strategic liaison between CMSU and Canon's global organization, ensuring alignment of priorities, collaboration, and execution across matrixed stakeholders.
  • Organizational Alignment, Change & Communication. Drive enterprise alignment through executive communication, change leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and effective resource allocation to achieve strategic priorities.

      • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in corporate strategy, business operations, management consulting, commercial leadership, corporate planning, business development, or related executive leadership roles.
      • 10+ years leading cross-functional strategic initiatives within complex organizations.
      • Demonstrated track record partnering with CEOs and Executive Leadership Teams to develop and execute enterprise strategy.
      • Significant experience driving organizational alignment, transformation initiatives, and enterprise-wide execution. Proven ability to influence executive decision-making and lead through influence across diverse stakeholder groups.
      • 15+ years of healthcare, medical device, diagnostic imaging, healthcare technology, life sciences, or related industry experience.
      • Experience supporting executive leadership within a global matrix organization.
      • Prior management consulting experience with a top-tier consulting firm.
      • Experience leading corporate strategy, business transformation, strategic planning, PMO, business development, or operational excellence functions.
      • Demonstrated success developing multi-year strategic plans, growth strategies, and enterprise transformation programs.

      • Pay Information: Min Salary of $217,600 to Max Salary of $375,300 plus bonus potential.
