As Vice President, Supply Chain Operations, a typical day might include the following:
  • Lead enterprise supply chain operations by reviewing operational performance across warehousing, distribution, logistics, purchasing, accounts payable, and customer service, addressing priorities that impact hospitals, ambulatory sites, and affiliates.
  • Review KPIs such as inventory accuracy, inventory turns, service levels, invoice accuracy, cycle times, and savings realization to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Finance, hospital and facility leaders, clinical stakeholders, and corporate functions to resolve supply chain issues, strengthen procure-to-pay controls, and ensure reliable access to critical supplies.
  • Lead initiatives focused on inventory optimization, replenishment strategies, logistics efficiency, cost reduction, automation, ERP enhancements, and scalable distribution models.
  • Coach and develop operational leaders while monitoring vendor performance and ensuring responsive customer service and timely resolution of supply chain issues across the system.
  • Work with senior leadership on supply chain strategy, M&A integration, risk management, compliance, and long-term initiatives that improve resilience, financial performance, and support for clinical operations.

This role might be for you if:
  • You are an experienced supply chain executive who thrives in complex, enterprise-scale healthcare environments and knows how to translate strategy into operational results.
  • You have a proven track record leading large teams across purchasing, warehousing, distribution, logistics, accounts payable, and customer service.
  • You are energized by using data, analytics, and performance metrics to identify opportunities, improve processes, and drive measurable financial and operational outcomes.
  • You excel at partnering across Finance, clinical operations, hospital leadership, and corporate functions to solve complex problems and strengthen enterprise-wide supply chain performance.
  • You have successfully led transformation initiatives involving ERP systems, automation, inventory optimization, shared services, M&A integration, or other large-scale operational change.

You must have demonstrated experience leading large operational teams in complex environments, along with strong analytical and performance management capabilities. Experience within a large integrated health system or academic medical center, enterprise-scale warehousing and distribution, centralized or shared services models, and ERP or supply chain system implementations is strongly preferred. An MBA or advanced degree and exposure to pharmacy or clinically intensive supply chains are also preferred.
