Rodan Energy Solutions manages more than 1,500 MW of flexible capacity across North American electricity markets and serves hundreds of commercial and industrial facilities through proprietary, in-house built software. The DER platform is built on that foundation - with a growing portfolio of battery storage, solar, generation, microgrid, and flexible energy assets, an active development pipeline, and a multidisciplinary team of business developers, analysts, engineers, and energy market experts already in place.
As Vice President, Rodan DER, you'll own the full growth agenda: commercial strategy, capital allocation, customer origination, strategic partnerships, and the operating model needed to scale a durable DER asset business across Canada and the United States. You'll have direct accountability for portfolio quality and long-term performance - with the authority and organizational support to match.

- Define and execute Rodan's North American DER strategy (markets, segments, products, and asset mix)
- Set and deliver growth targets across pipeline, contracted MW/MWh, and portfolio returns
- P&L & Capital Allocation
- Own financial performance, P&L, operating budget, forecasting, margin, returns, and capital efficiency for Rodan DER
- Own project and portfolio financial models to support pricing, investment decisions, and capital allocation
- Allocate capital across the pipeline based on risk-adjusted returns, strategic fit, and execution readiness
- Establish investment governance, including stage-gate reviews, Go/No-Go criteria, and executive business cases
- Commercial Strategy & Productization
- Develop repeatable commercial offerings
- Define pricing, risk allocation, and standard contract structures
- Lead negotiation strategy for key customer, partner, and financing agreements
- Origination & Pipeline Management
- Build and manage a high-quality, execution-ready pipeline aligned with strategy and capital capacity
- Establish disciplined screening to prioritize high-value, financeable opportunities
- Own senior customer and partner relationships
- Capital Strategy & Partnerships
- Lead capital strategy (debt, tax equity, partnerships, portfolio financing)
- Manage relationships with investors, lenders, and strategic partners
- Build strategic partnerships across utilities, OEMs, and EPCs to support growth
- Track market, regulatory, utility, and incentive developments and convert them into growth or risk mitigation actions.
- Organization & Governance
- Lead, build, and manage the Rodan DER team, including team structure, hiring priorities, capability development, performance expectations, and operating cadence
- Coordinate cross-functional execution with Finance, Legal, Engineering, Operations, Market Operations, Sales, and Executive Leadership to ensure priorities, risks, decisions, and accountabilities are aligned
- Drive a culture of accountability, commercial discipline, and execution excellence
- Execution Oversight
- Provide executive oversight of the full asset lifecycle through development, contracting, construction readiness, COD, operational handoff, and ongoing performance management
- Ensure execution teams are equipped with the resources, governance, and clarity required to successfully deliver contracted projects.
- Establish an asset management cadence to monitor performance, commercial outcomes, customer obligations, market participation, and corrective actions after COD
- Manage key risks, escalations, and stakeholder relationships
Required Skills and Qualifications:- 10+ years of senior leadership experience in energy infrastructure, DER, power markets, project development, infrastructure investment, or related commercial growth roles.
- Proven track record of building a business line, asset platform, development portfolio, or commercial growth strategy.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including project finance, portfolio valuation, contract structuring, capital allocation, and risk-adjusted return assessment.
- Solid understanding of DER technologies, customer-sited energy solutions, North American electricity markets, and monetization pathways.
- Experience originating, structuring, and negotiating complex commercial arrangements with customers, utilities, developers, capital providers, or strategic partners.
- Strong knowledge of power markets (energy, capacity, ancillary services) and related commercial structures, including arbitrage, tolling, floors, and offtake
- Ability to assess market, technical, interconnection, permitting, operating, and commercial risks at a level required to guide investment decisions.
- Executive presence and ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence senior stakeholders, and represent Rodan with customers, investors, partners, and industry participants.
- Builder mindset: strategic, commercially disciplined, decisive, accountable, and opportunity-oriented.
- Experience in Canadian or U.S. electricity markets; familiarity with both is an asset."
- Willingness to travel for industry tradeshows, conferences, and key business meetings as needed.
- Engineering, finance, economics, business, or related technical degree; MBA or graduate degree is an asset.
