Position Summary:The Vice President and General Manager for The Market Place oversees all aspects of the shopping center's operations, drives its strategic direction, and ensures an exceptional shopping experience for our customers. This individual will lead a diverse team and work closely with tenants, vendors, and stakeholders to achieve business goals and uphold the center's reputation as a premier shopping destination.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute comprehensive plans to drive growth, improve competitive positioning, and optimize the tenant mix.
- Foster cross-departmental collaboration and divisional excellence through influential leadership, including with non-direct reports.
- Analyze industry trends, market dynamics, and customer feedback to champion the strategic shifts necessary to elevate the shopping experience.
- Build partnerships with tenants, retailers, community groups, and local authorities to align on operational goals and support.
- Collaborate closely with leasing and marketing teams to maintain an optimal tenant mix and execute campaigns that drive foot traffic and customer retention.
- Integrate customer feedback into actionable strategies that maintain a premier ambiance and high service standards.
- Ensure seamless transition and service integration between the retail and residential portions of the property.
- Align annual budget management with cost-efficiency goals to support long-term operational quality.
- Lead and support income-generating programs, including specialty leasing and strategic marketing partnerships.
- Maintain high operational standards for safety, security, and emergency preparedness to ensure a seamless and professional environment.
Additional Skills:- Strong knowledge of leasing processes, contract negotiation, and tenant relations.
- In-depth knowledge of retail industry trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape.
- Proficiency in using technology and data analytics to inform decision-making and drive business performance.
- Strong retail business acumen and a track record of successfully driving financial performance and achieving business objectives.
Preferred Education:- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience)
Preferred Years of Relevant Work Experience:- 15+ years including experience in a senior leadership role within the retail or shopping center industry, preferably with a focus on luxury brands.
Additional Requirements:- Valid California driver's license; Maintain continuous vehicle liability insurance as required by state law. (This role requires the regular and frequent operation of a vehicle, as defined in the Company's MVR policy, and is part of the essential duties of this position.)
Compensation:Base Pay Range: $216,900.00 - $287,800.00
Actual placement within this range may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
