DescriptionPosition Overview The VP of Logistics is responsible for the overall strategic execution of the warehouse, transportation and facilities in both Austin and Waco. This role requires a focus on continuous process improvement, developing & implementing initiatives that bring speed, flexibility, compliance and connectivity to CTFB's logistics and distribution processes. As the VP of Logistics this role requires flexibility in operating hours and the ability to travel as needed. You will have direct responsibility for building people, process, planning, and systems capabilities to support strategy and meet service and total cost of ownership objectives.
Key Responsibilities Logistics & Supply Chain: Leads logistics and supply chain operations, including forecasting, inventory, product movement, supplier management, and distribution across CTFB's 21-county service area and partner network. Evaluates processes and supplier performance to improve efficiency, reliability, and service levels.
Supplier Management: Develop and manage supplier relationships and supply chain processes to ensure reliable resources, efficient distribution, and strong service levels. In addition, evaluate inventory and supply chain processes and implement improvements that increase efficiency. Monitor supplier performance and partner with other departments to identify and maintain reliable suppliers and distribution resources.
Facilities Management: Oversees facility operations and maintenance to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient facilities that comply with OSHA, AIB, CTFB policies, and industry standards.
Compliance: Oversees Facilities operations, ensuring facilities are safe, well-maintained, and compliant with OSHA, AIB, organizational policies, and industry best practices.
Financial & Operational Management: Develops and manages the annual operating budget, monitors financial and operational performance, and partners across departments to improve efficiency, manage resources responsibly, and support organizational priorities.
Safety: Provides strategic leadership for Logistics and Facilities safety, fostering a culture of accountability, risk prevention, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
Performance Measurement & Continuous Improvement: Establishes department performance measures, evaluates marketing and communications effectiveness, and uses data and insights to continuously improve strategies, operations, and organizational impact.
Department Leadership & Staff Development: Leads and develops a high-performing Finance & Accounting team by establishing clear goals and accountability, managing performance, providing coaching and developmental feedback, and building the technical, professional, and leadership capabilities necessary to achieve departmental and organizational priorities.
Organizational Alignment: Models and reinforces the Central Texas Food Bank's values of

Position RelationshipsBuilding and maintaining collaborative and meaningful relationships is a core component of this position. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer and overseeing a department of 40+ with three direct reports, this position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities with multiple stakeholders while using an analytical, collaborative and innovative approach to problem solving. Proven and demonstrated leadership, professionalism and effective communication skills to achieve goals are necessary for this role. Build strong, transparent, and collaborative partnerships across departments to support organizational priorities and operational effectiveness.
RequirementsYour Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in a business-related field including Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, or related field, Master's degree preferred.
- 10 + years progressive experience in leading supply chain, logistics, safety and planning management.
- Knowledge of central Texas and its network of services for low-income families.
- Demonstrated ability to think and execute strategically while consistently evaluating processes/practices for improvements.

Working Conditions•
Hours of Operation: Generally,Monday - Saturday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., alternating weekends amongst management team to maintain a 5-day work week. In addition, some evening and weekend hours may be required, especially during peak times, disaster response, or holidays

Environment: This position works in an office setting within a distribution warehouse and may require time in the field. There may be extended periods of walking, standing and/or bending, sitting, driving; listening, talking and/or visual concentration; writing and/or computer use. Working in the warehouse or outside in inclement weather. The position also requires working independently and with others on a team

Travel: CTFB's main facility resides in Austin while a secondary distribution facility resides in Waco. CTFB serves 21 counties in central Texas and often requires same-day travel between counties, using a personal vehicle, CTFB passenger fleet and possibly occasional out of town travel for meetings, special events or meeting for some positions.
