KenCrest is seeking an accomplished, forward-thinking Vice President of Business Development to lead enterprise growth strategy and help shape the organization’s next chapter.
Reporting to the Chief of Staff, this executive leader will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and advancing opportunities that expand KenCrest’s reach, strengthen strategic partnerships, diversify revenue, and position the organization for sustainable long-term growth. The VP will translate organizational strategy into a disciplined portfolio of opportunities spanning new markets and services, healthcare and government partnerships, referral relationships, contracts, affiliations, and potential acquisitions.
This role calls for more than someone who can identify opportunities. We are looking for a leader who can determine which opportunities are worth pursuing, build the relationships and internal alignment necessary to move them forward, and turn strategy into measurable results.
This is a highly visible, relationship-driven leadership role. The VP will work from our Plymouth Meeting office a minimum of two days per week, with an anticipated three to four days onsite during the first 90 days to build relationships and develop a deep understanding of KenCrest’s operations, programs, and communities. Approximately 25% travel is expected across Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Connecticut for program visits, partner meetings, community engagement, and business development activities, along with occasional out-of-state conferences and industry events.
Success will require equal parts strategic vision, business acumen, relationship development, executive influence, and disciplined execution.
Some of What This Role Will Do:
- Develop and execute a multi-year business development and growth strategy aligned with KenCrest’s strategic priorities.
- Build and manage a disciplined pipeline of growth opportunities, with clear priorities, milestones, metrics, and measures of return.
- Identify and evaluate opportunities across new services, markets, strategic partnerships, referral channels, revenue streams, affiliations, and acquisitions.
- Cultivate high-value relationships with government agencies, healthcare systems, payers, funders, referral sources, community organizations, providers, and other strategic partners.
- Translate market intelligence, reimbursement trends, regulatory developments, competitor activity, and emerging needs into actionable growth strategies.
- Develop compelling business cases and financial analyses that allow executive leadership and the Board to make informed growth and investment decisions.
- Assess opportunities through a broad organizational lens, balancing financial sustainability, operational readiness, capacity, quality, risk, and mission.
- Partner across Operations, Finance, Quality, Innovation, Programs, Government Relations, Marketing, Philanthropy, and executive leadership to turn viable opportunities into executable plans.
- Lead and support complex proposals, presentations, negotiations, partnership agreements, and contracts that advance new business and strategic relationships.
- Evaluate potential affiliations and acquisitions, contributing to opportunity assessment, due diligence, executive recommendations, and planning.
- Represent KenCrest with key external stakeholders, strengthening the organization’s market presence and developing relationships that create long-term opportunity.
- Bring sound judgment and clear recommendations to executive leadership, including the confidence to challenge assumptions, redirect efforts, or recommend when an opportunity should not move forward.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, business, management, or a related field is required; master’s degree preferred.
- At least three years of nonprofit experience that includes relationship development and coordinated planning.
- Direct experience in intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) services, with a strong understanding of the market and service landscape, is required.
- Demonstrated success identifying and advancing complex business development or organizational growth opportunities.
- Experience developing strategic partnerships and influencing senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to assess opportunities, challenge assumptions, develop a compelling case for investment, and translate analysis into clear executive recommendations.
- Experience working across functions and influencing outcomes without relying on direct reporting authority.
- Executive-level communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex opportunities, risks, and recommendations clearly and credibly.
- A strategic mindset paired with the ability to move from vision and relationship-building to execution, measurement, and results.
