Full Job Description
The NFR Transformation role will collaborate with teams across the Compliance and Operational risk departments within the NFR department to design and implement innovative working methods that support strategic priorities in alignment with divisional standards and industry best practices. This position will oversee strategic projects, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure effective coordination among all stakeholders from ideation through implementation.

The successful candidate should possess an entrepreneurial approach, strong critical thinking abilities, and the ability to integrate effective execution with operational excellence and disciplined delivery of a shared vision. Demonstrated experience managing transformation initiatives with Compliance and/or Operational Risk teams, or consulting is particularly advantageous.

In the Legal & Compliance (LCD) division, we assist the Firm in achieving its business objectives by facilitating and overseeing the Firm's management of legal, regulatory and franchise risk.

The LCD Innovation office is a function within LCD responsible for advancing transformation efforts and optimizing business processes, data, and technology to enable the Division to achieve prioritized business outcomes. It plays a vital role in designing and delivering solutions in collaboration with the Division's Data, Analytics, and Technology teams, and oversees the Division's technology investments and implementation activities.

What you'll do in the role:

- Proactively work with NFR department leadership and SMES to identify opportunities to improve working methods, including through process redesign and/or adoption of new or enhanced data and technology capabilities, including GenAI
- Partner with innovation, data and technology SMES to determine appropriate options for addressing prioritized business goals
- Employ divisional standards and best practices to design and implement solutions in alignment with Divisional strategy, including the LCD GenAI Strategy and LCD Data Strategy
- Perform business analysis and design activities where required, including use case definition, user experience design, functional requirements articulation, and acceptance testing
- Oversee implementation of improvement activities and projects working in partnership with designated delivery teams and ensuring effective coordination and communication between all stakeholders and delivery partners

What you'll bring to the role:

- Undergraduate degree
- 8+ years of experience, including proven leadership and execution of transformation change management initiatives
- Sharp critical thinking, and willingness to challenge the status quo and influence proposed approaches to achieve optimal results
- Strong experience of data oriented and user-centric design and ideation using Design Thinking techniques
- Strong experience with translating business needs into user centric designs
- Excellent client-focus with outstanding judgment, analytical skills, stakeholder and relationship management, and influencing skills
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple demands and changing priorities
- Ability to build relationships across regions and functions, partnering with team members of all levels
- Ability to deal with the uncertainty and drive progress under a fast paced and evolving environment with dynamic circumstances
- Ability to critically analyze process and data requirements and apply relevant contextual information to inform designs
- Excellent MS Office skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
- Experience of working with Compliance and/or Operational Risk teams or consulting experience with non-financial risk management functions
- Relevant experience in areas such as technology and innovation, transformation, or process improvement.

Skills that will help you in the role:
- Experience in the financial services industry
- Experience with designing and implementing solutions leveraging GenAI
- Experience with Generative AI tools such as Microsoft CoPilot and with designing AI prompts
- Experience of working with data analysts and/or information management frameworks

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $210,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
