Full Job Description
Our Vice President, Institutional Client Group, Fintech Coverage will be a key member of the team that manages global relationships with a group of North American Fintech companies, incl. Paytech, Market Structure Technology, Digital Banking, and Digital Assets & Currencies providers. As a Global Relationship Banker, you will be responsible for driving business origination and retention, and for managing credit and financial crime risk for those clients. You will also work in close partnership with Regional Relationship Bankers and product partners (incl. Transaction Banking, Securities Services, Capital Markets, Structured Finance, Global Markets, Asset Management), as well as colleagues in other divisions outside Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB), to ensure delivery of HSBC's products and services.

As our Vice President, Institutional Client Group, Fintech Coverage you will:
  • Develop an understanding of the clients' business needs and identify solutions that HSBC can deliver to help meet their challenges and objectives
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that transactions are balancing risk, return and profitability, and in compliance with both internal and external requirements
  • Develop and institutionalize effective and beneficial relationships, including at the C-suite level, with key buying windows at our clients and internally within HSBC
  • Support the broader CIB coverage team in their objectives, help drive revenue generation against targets, product alignment, client planning, client briefings, customer satisfaction, cost containment and supporting development and training of more junior staff
  • Leverage the full range of HSBC's product capabilities and international network to deliver solutions to our clients


You'll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:
  • University Degree or advanced qualifications
  • Deep understanding of the Fintech and/or Financial Institutions sector, industry trends and competitive dynamics
  • Extensive experience in capital markets, securities services, structured finance, transaction banking and asset management
  • Proven achievement in client facing roles and ability to drive outcomes
  • Solutions oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to identify and execute attractive commercial opportunities
  • Ability to form effective relationships, exercising influence at the most senior level of the organization, both internally and externally
  • Strong track record of collaborating across teams to deliver excellent results
  • Strong risk management and mitigation skills, including a good understanding of credit and financial crime risk management, as well as operational risk
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • FINRA Series 7, 63, and 79 licenses are required. A contingency period to obtain licensing can be provided at manager's discretion

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
