Job Title: Vice President, Global Institutional Marketing

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer and based in New York, the Vice President, Global Institutional Marketing will lead the audience strategy and integrated marketing agenda for Cohen & Steers' global institutional business. This leader will bring an independent marketing perspective to the business, combining audience insight, market intelligence and program performance data with the client and relationship intelligence of Sales. Working in partnership with global Sales and business leaders, the role will shape how Cohen & Steers earns attention, builds conviction, advances priority relationships and contributes to business growth.

The remit includes pensions, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, foundations, insurers, consultants and OCIOs, DCIO and subadvisory relationships. The role is New York based and globally accountable. It is currently an individual contributor position that leads through influence, working across Marketing, Product, Investments, Data, Operations and Compliance and helping define the capabilities and resources required as the business grows.

This role will be in-office four workdays per week with flexibility to work remotely one workday per week, subject to manager approval.

Major Responsibilities/Activities:
  • Co-create the global institutional growth agenda with Sales and business leaders, translating business priorities into clear choices across audiences, markets, client journeys, channels and investment.
  • Build and continually refresh a fact-based view of institutional audiences, buying groups, decision processes, needs, barriers, competitive alternatives and regional differences.
  • Develop targeted, sustained programs that engage institutional buying groups, consultants and other decision influencers across long consideration cycles.
  • Partner with Sales and business leaders, and bring independent perspective, to identify the issues, questions and market developments most relevant to institutional audiences,
  • Lead centralized activation through shared Marketing specialists, establishing clear briefs, priorities, outcomes and measures of success while adapting programs to regional market needs.
  • Determine where Cohen & Steers should participate in institutional conferences and industry events, evaluate opportunities to host proprietary forums, and partner with the Director of Events to translate those choices into effective experiences and engagement programs.
  • Define and own a scorecard connecting audience engagement and progression to qualified opportunities, priority relationships, client retention, expansion and return on marketing investment; ensure regulatory, compliance and brand standards are met.


Minimum Requirements:
  • 10+ years of progressive institutional asset-management marketing or closely related investment-marketing experience.
  • Deep knowledge of institutional investors, consultants and complex buying groups, including how investment decisions are shaped across long consideration cycles.
  • Demonstrated success bringing an independent audience perspective to business strategy and building productive, peer-level partnerships with Sales, Investments and other business leaders.
  • Experience developing integrated B2B marketing programs.
  • Experience using account-based marketing approaches to engage complex buying groups and advance priority institutional relationships.
  • Strategic and hands-on operating style, with strong business judgment and the ability to convert insight into focused priorities and measurable action.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams through influence, manage multiple priorities and operate effectively with shared resources.
  • Executive presence and influence across Distribution, Investments, Product, Compliance and senior leadership in a regulated organization.
  • Strong analytical, project management and communication skills.
  • Team orientation, integrity, initiative, resourcefulness, curiosity and commitment to continual learning.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or relevant industry designations are a plus.
  • Demonstrates inclusive behaviors in support of a culture that values diverse perspectives
  • Agrees to comply with the firm's hybrid work policy ("work from home policy," as aligned with the Company's employee handbook), which currently requires reporting to the Company's New York City office four (4) days per week, with one (1) remote workday permitted.

International institutional marketing experience is strongly preferred but not required.
