Role: Vice President (General Contracting)

Location: Grandview, Missouri

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Growth
  • Develop and deliver the strategic vision for Civic Elite.
  • Drive sustainable revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and service offerings.
  • Position Civic Elite for long-term success and increased enterprise value.


Business Development & Client Relationships
  • Build and strengthen relationships with owners, developers, architects, engineers, and industry partners.
  • Lead key pursuits, presentations, negotiations, and strategic opportunities.
  • Drive customer satisfaction and repeat business through exceptional service and execution.
  • Serve as a visible ambassador for Civic Elite within the construction industry and local communities.


Operational & Financial Leadership
  • Provide executive leadership across estimating, preconstruction, project management, field operations, safety, and support functions.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, profitably, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Maintain accountability for P&L performance, budgeting, forecasting, backlog management, cash flow, and financial results.
  • Foster a culture of operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.


People & Culture
  • Recruit, develop, and retain exceptional talent.
  • Build high-performing teams and develop future leaders.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within commercial construction, general contracting, or related industries.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and driving profitable business growth.
  • Previous responsibility for business unit performance, P&L management, backlog growth, operational leadership, and business development within a commercial general contracting environment.
  • Strong understanding of construction operations, project delivery, estimating, preconstruction, scheduling, contracts, procurement, and risk management.
  • Experience leveraging construction ERP, project management, reporting, and business intelligence platforms such as Penta, Plexxis, Viewpoint Vista, CMiC, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Microsoft 365, or similar systems.
  • Strong financial acumen and the ability to use data to drive decision-making and performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop client relationships and generate new business opportunities.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
