Location

Our headquarters and most of our team are based in Ottawa. For employees located in Ottawa,this role follows a hybrid work model, with an expectation of approximately four days per weekin the office at our headquarters. We also welcome remote candidates from anywhere in Canada

 

About the Team

 

The Vice President, Finance Operations & Transformation is a senior finance executive responsible for leading and scaling a modern finance operations team for a public company.This leader owns the operational backbone of Finance: accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll operations, procurement, deal desk governance, customer contracting, and finance operations transformation.  The mandate is not simply to run today’s processes; it is to redesign and modernize them so the company can scale efficiently, improve the employee and customer experience, strengthen financial discipline, and operate with greater speed, consistency, automation, and insight.The successful candidate will bring a transformation mindset and a strong operating cadence. They will be equally comfortable improving day-to-day execution, creating enterprise-wide standards, partnering with Sales and Legal on complex commercial transactions, working with IT on systems and workflow automation, and leading change across the finance organization.

What you will do

  • Lead global finance operations across accounts receivable, accounts payable, payrolloperations, procurement, customer contracting and deal desk governance.
  • Ensure the efficient and accurate processing of all financial transactions, application ofinternal controls, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Lead the team and serve as a global advisor on deal structuring, pricing strategy, andcommercial terms to optimize revenue outcomes. Provide strategic insights into dealdependencies, risks, and opportunities to support global planning and execution.
  • Lead the transformation of finance operations by improving processes, leveraging technology, and introducing automation and AI where they create business value.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, or eliminate manual processes across financial operations.
  • Grow teams, develop leaders across the portfolio, and create an environment that supports collaboration, operational excellence, and modern enterprise thinking

What we are looking for

  • 15 years of progressive financial leadership experience.
  • Significant experience with finance operations, finance transformation, procurementoperations, or related environments.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in finance transformation.
  • Proven ability to modernize processes through standardization, automation, analytics,AI-enabled tools, and operating model redesign.
  • Strong leadership skills to provide vision and support to the Finance team, mentorindividuals, and develop high-performing talent.
