Within OPS, the Transaction Management Operations team is responsible for the confirmation and settlement of transactions with counterparties and custodians across global markets. The team serves a critical role in ensuring efficient post-trade processing, managing operational risk, enhancing transparency through data-driven insights, and delivering an exceptional client experience.
Your Role and ImpactAs a Vice President within Transaction Management Operations, you will lead and oversee critical post-trade activities that support the successful confirmation, settlement, and lifecycle management of investment transactions. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, counterparties, custodians, brokers, and service providers to identify and resolve operational exceptions, mitigate risk, and drive process improvements.
This role combines people leadership, operational management, and strategic problem-solving. You will leverage data and analytics to identify trends, improve efficiencies, strengthen controls, and support scalable solutions across the post-trade ecosystem. Your contributions will help enhance operational excellence while supporting BlackRock's commitment to delivering world-class service to clients and investors.
Your Responsibilities- Manage post-trade operations across trade confirmation, settlement, collateral management, and related lifecycle events, partnering with counterparties, clearing brokers, Futures Commission Merchants (FCMs), and custodians to resolve exceptions and mitigate operational risk.
- Lead the investigation and resolution of trade settlement failures, collateral disputes, Mark-to-Market (MTM) exceptions, and contractual discrepancies through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Utilize data analysis and operational metrics to identify trends, enhance transparency, support decision-making, and improve team productivity, efficiency, and controls.
- Evaluate operational processes, procedures, and systems to identify opportunities for automation, standardization, scalability, and continuous improvement.
- Assess the impact of upstream process changes on reconciliations and operational workflows, identifying risks and implementing solutions to strengthen operational performance.
- Maintain process documentation, provide training and development support to team members, and balance people leadership with functional management responsibilities to deliver high-quality service and results.
Your Experience- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
- 5+ years of investment operations experience with demonstrated expertise in trade confirmation, settlement, and post-trade lifecycle management.
- Strong understanding of collateral management, margin processing, custody operations, and exception management.
- Experience investigating and resolving settlement breaks, trade fails, and operational risk events across multiple asset classes.
- Proven ability to leverage data analysis to identify process improvement opportunities and drive automation, efficiency, and risk reduction initiatives.
- Demonstrated leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, counterparties, custodians, brokers, and internal teams.
For Wilmington, DE Only the salary range for this position is USD$117,500.00 - USD$173,500.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits.
