SUMMARYThe Vice President is responsible for leading the execution of the strategic vision, business objectives, and operational priorities established by the President and Board of Directors. Based in Indianapolis, Indiana, this executive role provides overall leadership and direction for Ben Hur Construction's Central Division, ensuring sustained profitability, operational excellence, exceptional customer satisfaction, and long-term organizational growth. The Vice President develops and implements strategies that drive business performance, strengthen market position, optimize operational effectiveness, and cultivate a high-performing culture. This position serves as a key member of the executive leadership team and is accountable for achieving financial objectives, delivering industry-leading project execution, and developing the people, processes, and capabilities necessary to support continued success. The purpose of this role is to deliver strong financial performance, ensure customers consistently receive superior quality and service, and foster an engaged workforce that executes with excellence, accountability, and pride.
KEY RESPONSIBILITESOPERATIONS- Partner with executive leadership to establish strategic objectives and operational priorities.
- Provide oversight of operational activities to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and profitably.
- Lead long-range planning, capital expenditure planning, process improvement, and performance reporting.
FINANCE- Provide leadership for budgeting, forecasting, and fiscal management.
- Ensure achievement of profitability and financial performance goals.
- Oversee financial risk management, contract review, and key financial commitments.
MARKETING & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT- Develop strategies that enhance customer value and strengthen client relationships.
- Expand market presence and represent the company within the industry.
TALENT MANAGEMENT & STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP- Build and develop a high-performing leadership team.
- Lead talent acquisition, workforce development, and succession planning initiatives.
- Foster a safety-focused culture of accountability and operational excellence.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field required. Advanced degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum 15 years of progressive construction industry leadership experience.
Skills: - Extensive leadership experience in construction operations or structural steel erection/fabrication.
- Strong business acumen, financial expertise, and strategic planning ability.
- Advanced negotiation, communication, and decision-making skills.
