Full Job Description
Summary

The Vibration Specialist supports machinery diagnostics, condition monitoring, and predictive maintenance activities at power generation and industrial facilities throughout North America. Working alongside experienced Vibration Specialists, this role assists with vibration data collection, equipment condition assessments, and machinery reliability initiatives on critical rotating equipment.

Primary Duties

  • Collect vibration data and assist with machinery condition assessments using industry-standard vibration analysis and condition monitoring equipment.
  • Support vibration diagnostics, predictive maintenance activities, and equipment reliability evaluations under the guidance of Senior Vibration Specialists.
  • Assist with troubleshooting rotating equipment issues and participate in machinery inspections to identify potential reliability concerns.
  • Support field testing activities, including vibration data collection, machinery operational testing, and other condition monitoring techniques.
  • Document field observations and assist with the preparation of technical reports and recommendations following site assessments.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and provide regular project status updates to supervisors and customers.
  • Work closely with the Engineered Performance team, field personnel, and customers to safely execute field assignments while maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Adhere to project schedules, safety requirements, and quality standards while supporting multiple customer sites and field assignments.

  • Continuously develop technical knowledge through on-the-job training, mentorship, and industry certifications in vibration analysis and machinery diagnostics.


Job Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent. Relevant work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.

  • Years of Experience:
    • Two years of experience in industrial maintenance, rotating equipment, field service, reliability, or predictive maintenance preferred.
    • Experience working with rotating equipment such as gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, compressors, pumps, motors, or gearboxes.
    • Exposure to vibration analysis, condition monitoring, or predictive maintenance technologies is preferred but not required.
    • Experience with vibration analysis platforms such as Emerson, SKF, Bently Nevada, or similar systems is a plus.


  • Licenses/Certification: ISO CAT I (preferred)

  • Software/Equipment Knowledge:
    • Able to operate specialty tooling
    • Microsoft Office
    • Primavera

Compensation

The initial compensation will range from $98,300 to $113,050.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Physical requirements needed to perform the positions, and possible working conditions that the employee could be working in. Below is an example of this

Normal working hours are 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. Monday through Friday. Extended hours may be required based on specific requirements. Ground and air travel is required of this position. Ability to travel up to 50-60% is required. Work is performed at an established home office environment or headquarters office, and on industrial sites that require protective clothing and equipment. Work at facilities can occur around industrial hazards, in areas of high noise levels, and around new construction. Physical mobility to transverse stairways, ladders, grating, and uneven terrain are essential. Ability to see, hear, read, and react to warning signs, lights, and alarms are essential.

Fit for Duty

All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
