JOB OVERVIEW:

The Veterinary Division at Blue Buffalo is seeking a full-time Veterinary Clinic Specialist (VCS) in Texas. This position will support veterinary clinics across Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas

As part of a regional team, the Veterinary Clinic Specialist will develop direct relationships with local and regional veterinary clinics and educate veterinary professionals on BLUE Natural Veterinary Diet. The VCS will own the development of their territory by identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with veterinary hospitals, delivering meaningful education, and developing account-specific strategies that drive sustainable growth.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Engage, educate, and develop ongoing relationships with veterinary clinics and professional teams in their respective region.
  • Conduct in-clinic presentations and training sessions to educate veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and clinic staff on the benefits of BLUE products.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Professional Services Veterinarians, Channel Development, Field Selling Assistant, and other key partners, including participation in joint field rides to support business priorities and the business.
  • Develop creative, account-specific strategies that demonstrate Blue Buffalo's commitment to veterinary professionals.
  • Implement targeted promotional and educational programs to increase product recommendations and sales through the veterinary channel.
  • Achieve business targets through daily calls and outreach activities, while remaining current on competitor products, market trends, and customer needs.
  • Independently manage a geographically dispersed, four-state territory through effective planning, prioritization, and follow-up.
  • Complete administrative responsibilities, reporting, and account follow-up as needed.
  • Support and attend local, regional, and national meetings while also managing your respective territory through office visits and support.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years of relevant field sales experience within the animal health or animal food industries
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft platforms (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent work ethic, professional appearance, high integrity
  • Superior communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills
  • Enthusiastic, competitive, and self-motivated individual
  • Ability to analyze data and the competitive sales environment
  • Able to work in an environment with free-roaming animals
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Willingness to travel for this role (Overnight travel up to about 60% of the time)


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5+ years of relevant field sales experience within the animal health space.
  • Pet nutrition experience/exposure strongly preferred
  • Experience selling to or working with veterinary clinics and veterinary professionals
  • Strong business acumen, problem-solving, and customer-development skills


ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:
  • International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.
  • Applicants for this position must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. General Mills will not sponsor applicants for this position for work visas.
  • The preferred location for this individual and role is in Dallas, TX, but the team will consider individuals in other markets in Texas.

SALARY RANGE

The salary range for this position is:
$71,300 - $107,000 Annual
