  • Lead BIM/VDC coordination efforts across projects

Full Job Description
Responsibilities:

  • Increases BIM/VDC service standard training and adoption regionally
  • Manages and implements BIM/VDC services on multiple projects
  • Trains project staff on BIM/VDC processes and services
  • Spends time at regional jobsites implementing BIM/VDC processes
  • Markets BIM/VDC services internally and externally
  • Presents BIM/VDC projects and services at industry related conferences and forums
  • Stays current on what is being marketed/executed by our competition regionally
  • Creates project specific BIM Project Execution Plans and Templates (BEPs)
  • Identifies BIM/VDC requirements in technical specifications
  • Creates BIM/VDC contract language and consultant agreements on assigned projects
  • Manages BIM/VDC consultants their business unit.
  • Creates a models including site logistics, structure, interior/exterior architecture, and MEP/FP systems as needed
  • Manages model authoring, revisions, versioning, exchange, validation, and as-builts
  • Creates custom model components and families
  • Manages model authoring service providers and sub-trades regionally
  • Supports the development of 4D service standards for national adoption
  • Creates and manages 4D project schedules on multiple projects
  • Supports the development of coordination service standards for national adoption
  • Leads and/or Manages BIM/VDC coordination effort on multiple projects
  • Trains and supports BIM/VDC coordination teams on multiple projects
  • Manages the production of dimensioned drawings for field use on multiple projects
  • Manages BIM/VDC layout and assists in field as-built verification on multiple projects
  • Manages and coordinates model turnover on multiple projects
  • Supports the development of 5D service standards for national adoption
  • Manages the validation of models for model based quantity takeoff
  • Creates model based quantity surveys for estimate verification
  • Models components as needed for accurate quantity takeoff
  • Participates in development of 5D Estimating standards and processes
  • Develops, implements, and manages an FM strategy based on the Owner's needs and future goals
  • Trains Owner's FM staff on implementation of FM software and workflows, providing support to Owner's FM staff after project completion as required


Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture
  • Minimum 6-8 years of project management experience - Project Architect, Project Manager or equivalent, demonstrating proven leadership qualities in previous project roles
  • Advanced knowledge of construction related BIM/VDC processes and project delivery methods and their impact on BIM/VDC services (CMR, DBB, IPD, etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge of BIM/VDC software, service implementation, and management
  • Proven leadership qualities from previous project roles and strong communication and public speaking skills
  • Advanced understanding of construction terminology and processes; construction materials and systems; and drawings and specifications
  • Advanced understanding of planning and scheduling concepts and advanced understanding of construction work sequencing
  • Advanced understanding of quality control principles
