About the team: The Customer Engagement Services Technology team develops advanced customer service solutions impacting millions worldwide. Comprising software engineers, data scientists, and machine learning experts, the team focuses on innovative Generative AI applications within complex enterprise environments. As part of Walmart Global Tech's Enterprise Business Systems, it collaborates closely with product, business, and UX partners to deliver measurable business value. The team emphasizes scalable, secure, and maintainable software design while fostering continuous improvement and operational excellence to support Walmart's mission of helping customers save money and live better.
What you'll do: - Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones and domain priorities.
- Drive full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
- Conduct system design reviews to validate feasibility and ensure alignment with architectural best practices.
- Build AI-driven applications and integrate ML components to support automation and intelligent features.
- Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence through documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and track success metrics using data-driven practices.
What you'll bring: - Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to ensure scalable and resilient systems.
- Strong experience in software design patterns, API design, and software prototyping to deliver maintainable and modular solutions.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as TypeScript, Python, Java, Rust or C++ for AI/ML integration and platform development.
- Demonstrated ability to lead full software development lifecycle activities, including CI/CD deployment, observability, and maintenance.
- Skilled in data-driven decision making and applying best practices to improve code quality and system performance.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions to promote engineering excellence and sustainability.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills to engage cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

The annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00 - $264,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
