Role summary:
Join Walmart as a Senior Software Engineer and lead the delivery of scalable, secure software solutions through collaborative engineering efforts. This role involves full lifecycle development, including design, coding, testing, and deployment of services, APIs, and AI/ML components. You will apply technical expertise to drive innovation, ensure quality, and support continuous improvement while collaborating across teams to meet business objectives. The position demands strong problem-solving skills, technical ownership, and the ability to translate complex requirements into effective software systems aligned with Walmart's standards and strategic goals.
About the team:
The Fintech Disputes & Exceptions Management Engineering group focuses on resolving payment discrepancies within Walmart's Finance Tech ecosystem. The team develops and maintains tools that enhance collaboration between internal teams and external suppliers, using automation to reduce manual efforts. Committed to continuous improvement and operational excellence, the group ensures accurate and timely dispute management. Members apply strong technical skills in software development, problem solving, and iterative delivery to build reliable solutions that improve financial processes and support Walmart's business objectives.
What you'll do:
  • Own delivery of scoped features and models through collaborative engineering teams, managing implementation, iteration, testing, and support.
  • Write clean, efficient, and reliable code using multiple programming languages and drive full software development lifecycle including CI/CD and automated testing.
  • Integrate AI and ML components to enhance software intelligence and leverage generative AI tools to improve development velocity.
  • Participate in solution design, conduct code reviews, and ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable software aligned with platform standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and success metrics, ensuring solutions meet business and user needs.
  • Monitor application performance, support defect management, and promote continuous improvement and engineering excellence.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
