Job DescriptionThe RoleJoining a new and fast-growing division of Canopius, helping build a market-leading Portfolio Solutions offering globally. This role has a focus on North America within the Global Product Team. Responsibilities will include portfolio underwriting, technical portfolio analysis, client engagement and relationship management. Building and maintaining new, innovative portfolio products within profitable guidelines and regulations, facilitating underwriting activities and programmes that are of high standard and compliant to Canopius' governance.
Responsibilities- Support ongoing management of Portfolio Solutions appetite, which includes cross-class global broker facilities, delegated authority agreements, and evolving complex agreements.
- Manage premium and exposure data across multiple lines and products. Have a broad market knowledge or understanding of the US P&C industry. Experience with Lloyd's a plus.
- Translate data into useable and actionable insights or formats.
- Explore ways to leverage Portfolio Solutions data to inform broader Canopius strategy.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain contract standards, manage referrals, and ensure data quality.
- Implement new product development opportunities and explore collaboration opportunities across markets.
- Work with risk analytics and Portfolio Management teams to track and monitor global Portfolios and Exposures to understand cross-class risk profile.
- Assist with the planning and organization of annual underwriting audit schedules and action plans, with time and budget considerations.
- Meet regularly with MGA and Distribution partners to gather market intelligence beyond individual line performance.
- Advise open market underwriting teams and executive leadership on evolving risk opportunities.
- Support operations teams with Bordereaux ingestion and reporting processes
- Help manage claims operations and communications for Portfolio Solutions Globally
Skills and Qualifications- 1-5 years of commercial insurance experience. Underwriting or P&C broker experience preferred.
- General knowledge in Commercial Insurance topics including Property, Liability, Specialty, Reinsurance, Lloyd's, and broader macroeconomic understanding.
- Flexibility with schedule and workflow. Ability to adapt to new tasks or workstreams.
- Comfort working with large sets of data. Fluency with Excel a must. Any experience with PowerBI or other management reporting tools a plus.
- Industry designations such as: CPCU, ARe, ARM are a plus
- Bachelor's degree required
Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000
