Position Summary
Precise Software Solutions Inc. is seeking a UI/UX Developer to design and build intuitive, accessible, human-centered interfaces for secure AI-enabled applications as part of a forward-deployed delivery team supporting the Government's Enterprise AI Solution Delivery and Support Services program. You will turn complex AI capabilities, such as chat assistants, document processing, and decision-support dashboards, into experiences that users trust. Every interface you build will meet Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards.
Location: Washington, DC metro area (hybrid)
Citizenship: U.S. citizen or green card holder
Background Investigation: Required
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop user interfaces for AI-enabled applications, dashboards, and workflows, from user research, wireframes, and prototypes through visual and interaction design and production front-end code, building responsive, reusable components (e.g., React or Angular with TypeScript) aligned with the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) and agency digital experience standards.
Design AI-specific user experiences, including conversational interfaces, source citations, confidence cues, and clear labeling of AI-generated versus human-verified content, and design human-in-the-loop review screens that let users approve, override, reject, or escalate AI outputs with documented rationale.
Ensure all interfaces meet Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA, test them with assistive technologies using DHS Trusted Tester methods, and prepare an ACR/VPAT for each release.
Plan and run usability assessments with users, applying findings, user feedback, and 21st Century IDEA guidance to refine designs; develop user adoption and training materials (user guides, job aids, release guidance); and collaborate with AI engineers, product owners, and stakeholders in two-week Agile sprints, keeping designs, code, and documentation in Government-approved repositories using Government-furnished or open-source tools.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related field and 5+ years of hands-on UI/UX design and front-end development experience, with a portfolio showing research-driven, accessible designs.
Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and a modern front-end framework (e.g., React or Angular), plus design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Penpot) and experience with wireframing, user flows, and design systems.
Demonstrated experience building interfaces that conform to Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 A and AA, testing with screen readers and other assistive technologies, and planning and conducting usability testing that translates findings into design improvements.
Experience working in Agile teams using Git and Jira.
Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (green card holder), reside in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and be able to work on-site at Government offices, and be able to obtain and maintain a government background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or a related field, and 7+ years of experience including federal agency programs, with a DHS Trusted Tester certification or an IAAP accessibility certification (e.g., CPACC, WAS).
Experience designing user experiences for AI products (e.g., chat assistants, RAG search, agentic workflows), with the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) and 21st Century IDEA requirements.
Experience with data visualization libraries (e.g., D3, Chart.js) and dashboard design, and an active or prior Government background investigation.
