Position SummaryPrecise Software Solutions Inc. is seeking a UI/UX Developer to design and build intuitive, accessible, human-centered interfaces for secure AI-enabled applications supporting the Government's Enterprise AI Solution Delivery and Support Services program. You will turn complex AI capabilities - chat assistants, document processing, decision-support dashboards - into experiences users trust, meeting Section 508 (36 CFR Part 1194) and WCAG 2.1 AA on every release.
Key Responsibilities - Design and build UIs for AI-enabled apps, dashboards, and workflows - research, wireframes, prototypes, visual/interaction design, production front-end code
- Independently developed, tested, and deployed modules sharing a common design system, aligned to USWDS and agency standards
- Design for SSO/MFA-aware, role-based access at the application entry point
- Design AI-specific UX: intelligent search/ranking by role and context, inline contextual help at decision points, and natural-language query interfaces
- Design human-in-the-loop review screens (approve/override/reject/escalate with documented rationale), reflecting governance boundaries between delivery-assistance AI use and governed production AI functionality
- Meet Section 508/WCAG 2.1 AA; support automated 508 testing with findings tracked to remediation; test with assistive tech via DHS Trusted Tester methods; prepare ACR/VPAT per release
- Run usability assessments; track findings as non-functional requirements in Jira
- Review existing screens/workflows for usability and 508 gaps; validate priority user journeys with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders
- Communicate design decisions, research findings, and progress clearly to both internal teams (developers, product owners, program leadership) and external stakeholders (government customers, state/agency partners, end users)
- Develop training materials (user guides, job aids, release notes); work in two-week Agile sprints with AI engineers and product owners using Government-approved repos/tools
Requirements
Required Qualifications - Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and front-end concepts (React-based micro frontend architecture) sufficient to collaborate closely with developers; proficiency in Figma or Sketch; strong wireframing, user flows, and design systems experience
- Experience designing user experiences for AI products (e.g., chat assistants, RAG search, agentic workflows)
- Familiarity with low-code/no-code platforms and their design constraints is a plus
- Experience with data visualization libraries (e.g., D3, Chart.js) and dashboard design is preferred
- Demonstrated 508/WCAG 2.1 A & AA conformance work; screen reader/assistive tech testing; usability testing with documented, measurable design improvements
- Working understanding of AI-governance boundaries for federal systems - knowing when AI output requires human review/approval before any regulatory or operational action
- Agile team experience with Git and Jira
- Bachelor's in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Human Factors, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience); 5+ years hands-on UI/UX design experience; portfolio showing accessible, research-driven design
