Job Title: Truck Collision General Manager

Reports to: CEO, VP

FLSA Status: Exempt

The Truck Collision General Manager oversees all operations within the truck collision repair center, including staff management, workflow optimization, customer service, budgeting, and ensuring high-quality repair services. This position is responsible for driving profitability, maintaining compliance with industry standards, and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Operations
    • Manage daily operations of the truck collision center to ensure efficiency and productivity.
    • Supervise department managers, estimators, technicians, parts staff, and customer service representatives.
    • Oversee scheduling, quality control, and final delivery of repaired vehicles.
    • Assure safe work environment for all personnel and visitors.
  • Customer Experience
    • Ensure superior customer service standards are upheld throughout the repair process.
    • Resolve customer complaints or escalations in a timely and professional manner.
    • Maintain communication with customers, insurers, and vendors regarding repair status and approvals.
  • Financial Management
    • Develop and manage budgets, cost controls, and financial forecasting.
    • Monitor KPIs such as cycle time, gross profit, labor hours, and CSI scores.
    • Identify areas for revenue growth and cost reduction.
  • Compliance & Quality
    • Ensure all repairs meet OEM standards, insurance guidelines, and local/federal regulations.
    • Maintain proper documentation and ensure compliance with safety and environmental laws.
    • Oversee audits and inspections from insurance companies and regulatory bodies.
  • Team Development
    • Hire, train, and mentor staff; conduct regular performance evaluations.
    • Foster a safe, positive, and accountable work environment.
    • Provide ongoing training and certification opportunities for technicians and staff.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in collision center or truck body shop management (heavy-duty truck experience strongly preferred)
  • Strong understanding of body shop workflow, estimating systems and insurance processes.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to interpret financial data and drive profitability.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience with truck parts, maintenance services, and sales.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and other business development tools.
  • Established network of contacts within the truck services and sales industry.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT safety standards.
