Description & Requirements

MANTECH seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Training Specialist to join our team in Arlington, VA. This is an onsite position.

The Training Specialist will support government agency personnel by providing essential standards, services, and guidance on IT-related training programs. This role involves the development, delivery, and coordination of comprehensive training materials and courses specifically designed to enable users to utilize information technologies and systems more productively.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Providing standards, services, and guidance on IT related training programs designed to enable government agency personnel to use information technologies and systems more productively
  • Conducting training needs analysis and designing curriculum for distance learning materials, including content outlines, learning objectives, and interactive simulations
  • Reviewing application development user stories and features to determine training impact and conducting research to develop and revise interactive training materials
  • Conducting Peer and Design reviews of training material for accuracy while maintaining policy and standards for online training throughout the development process
  • Preparing training documentation, analyzing existing materials, and making recommendations to update processes to satisfy customer objectives
  • Establishing project training plans including audience, approach, design, and list of deliverables using independent decision-making
  • Preparing student materials such as course manuals, workbooks, and instructor notes while ensuring all materials are 508 compliant
  • Training personnel by conducting formal classroom courses, workshops, and seminars while providing input to the Training Manager on continuous improvement


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Information Technology, or relevant certifications (MS-MCT, CompTIA CTT+, SAFe, etc.) with 5+ years of experience in training
  • Significant experience with Instructional Systems Design and the ability to demonstrate initiative and sound judgment in decision-making
  • Significant experience in Customer Service with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with computer functions, technical terminology, and the application of hardware and software (PCs, MS Windows, MS Office) in business situations
  • Experience using Microsoft 365 productivity tools to support training and organizational tasks
  • Ability to travel up to 25% both domestically and internationally to support training requirements


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and prior technical training experience
  • Experience with multimedia development tools such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate, or Camtasia
  • Experience with webinar software including Webex, MS Teams, and Zoom, and applications such as ServiceNow and Salesforce


Clearance Requirements:
  • Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret clearance prior to starting this position.


Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and utilize office equipment.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which involves delivering presentations and exchanging accurate information.
  • Must be able to effectively use IT peripherals and decipher program manuals, IT service requests, and work orders.
