Job Description

The Training & Development Manager is responsible for designing and delivering standardized hourly warehouse orientation and training programs across ODW Logistics facilities that ensure all team members-both new and existing-have the knowledge, skills, and confidence to perform their jobs safely, efficiently, and consistently. These enterprise-wide programs drive strong performance, improve retention, and support long-term business success.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, organize, and manage a curriculum of standard training programs that support hourly associate onboarding and on-the-job skill development.
  • Ensure training programs are consistent with legal requirements and promote positive, engaging employee engagement and delivery across all sites.
  • Partner with Operations, Safety, Quality, and HR leaders to define training requirements by role, site, shift, customer, equipment type, and operational process.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Division Leaders to identify training needs, develop strategies and schedules, and align training programs with business goals.
  • Responsible for the instructional design of training materials and ancillary documents (slides, workbooks, handouts, facilitation guides, etc.) utilized during training delivery.
  • Implement standards for training completion, documentation retention, sign-offs, certifications, and compliance tracking across distribution centers.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through associate feedback, leader input, onboarding surveys, quality/safety trends, turnover data, and time-to-productivity measures.
  • Ensure project objectives are identified, reported and managed and that post implementation reviews achieve successful delivery to ensure improvements can be made for future projects
  • Conduct needs assessments through interviews, workflow analysis, and site visits to identify gaps and recommend process or performance improvements.
  • Support leadership development by equipping supervisors and managers with tools and training to coach, train, and sustain team performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement of hourly onboarding and training standards by incorporating associate feedback, operational needs, audit findings, and best practices.
  • Ensure training programs reinforce ODW's values, safety culture, associate engagement, and expectations for performance, attendance, quality, and teamwork.
  • All other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, education, human resources, continuous improvement, supply chain or equivalent education/work experience preferred
  • 5 years of proven education and training experience from a similar role
  • 3+ years of proven management experience
  • Experience building or standardizing training materials, checklists, SOPs, learning paths, or onboarding programs across multiple sites preferred.
  • Adaptable and comfortable spending time on the warehouse floor to understand work processes and training need
  • Proficiency in skills management and workforce qualification platform
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools preferred

  • Spend 50% of time on warehouse floor in fast-paced environment
  • Focus (with or without corrective lenses) to see close and distant, along with depth perception capabilities

Salary Pay Grade Level 16

Salary Range $71.250 to $95,000
