Job Summary
We are seeking a Threat Implementation Engineer to support Cybersecurity Release & Deployment initiatives and Lifecycle Management Refresh activities, including new security-system deployments and hardware and software upgrades. The role will be responsible for technical planning, implementation logistics, deployment sequencing, risk mitigation, and delivery of threat and cybersecurity solutions while minimizing impact to network operations. The engineer will work closely with Design Engineering, Security Architecture, technology engagement teams, clients, management, and technical teams while managing multiple priorities and technical project engagements.
Key Responsibilities
• Own the technical aspects of changes end-to-end, including implementation of security and threat solutions
• Support technical planning and logistics to achieve targeted schedules and annual refresh and build commitments
• Analyze existing and evolving business requirements and develop threat solutions aligned with business and technology requirements
• Support Cybersecurity Release & Deployment and Lifecycle Management Refresh initiatives
• Perform software and hardware upgrades, deployments, migrations, and operational support for enterprise threat platforms
• Adhere to project close-out practices including database updates, asset tracking, inventory systems, records retention, and related process updates
• Work with Design Engineering and Security Architecture and Engineering teams to support adoption of new technologies, systems, and process changes
• Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and objectively measure the impact of improvement initiatives
• Apply knowledge of network infrastructure and risk-management practices to support secure implementations
• Support DMZ networking, secure network segmentation, and Cisco routing and switching activities
• Lead technical planning, risk mitigation, and deployment sequencing for complex threat implementations
• Troubleshoot complex security and network-related issues in production environments
• Manage multiple technical engagements, deadlines, priorities, and application requirements
• Communicate complex technical issues and implementation requirements to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Work independently and collaboratively while maintaining strong attention to detail and adherence to established processes
• Support high-impact change activities, including nights and weekends when required
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience supporting enterprise threat and security platforms, preferably in large-scale enterprise or financial services environments
• Strong experience designing, engineering, implementing, deploying, and optimizing enterprise threat and cybersecurity solutions
• Proven experience performing software and hardware upgrades, deployments, migrations, and operational support
• Hands-on experience with one or more of the following threat technologies: SkyHigh Secure Web Gateway, F5 SSL Orchestrator (SSLO), Trellix FireEye, or Blue Coat ProxySG/Secure Web Gateway
• Strong understanding of DMZ environments, secure network architecture, network segmentation, and Cisco routing and switching
• Experience troubleshooting complex security and network-related issues in production environments
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and risk-management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and technical engagements in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to follow established processes while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
• Strong written, verbal, collaboration, and stakeholder communication skills
• Ability to translate complex technical issues and requirements for non-technical stakeholders
• Working knowledge of Linux operating systems
• Ability to work nights and weekends as required to support change activities
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Computer Science, or an equivalent field
• Knowledge of DMZ networking and Cisco routing and switching
• Security and networking professional certifications, including CISSP
• Bank or financial services industry experience
• Programming experience with Shell, Perl, Python, Golang, C, or C++
• Administrator-level experience with UNIX/Linux environments
• Experience with automation, DevOps practices, production support, solution design, and solution delivery processes
