ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Responsible to develop new thermal management (coolant and refrigerant) technologies
  • Valves (Electronically or mechanically actuated)
  • Modules
  1. Provide technical support during RFQs, which includes but is not limited to
  • Design and material recommendation
  • Bill of material (BOM) definition
  • Technical presentation preparation
  • Manufacturing feasibility preparation
  • Tooling requirements description
  • Basic costing estimation
  1. Lead customer interactions for technical lobbying and advanced design collaboration
  2. Manage innovation projects and drive new ideas to meet the new market requirements
  3. Creates, researches, and determines feasibility of innovations, ideas, and VA/VEs.
  4. Review thoroughly customer specifications and prepare accordingly Hutchinson DVP&R
  5. Responsible for tracking validation for all assigned customer programs
  6. Document and report new thermal management technologies in global R&D meetings.
  7. Coordinate and validate design solutions with Europe technical headquarters
  8. Serve as a local information resource (benchmark) for thermal management solutions
  9. Create DFMEA and organize reviews for its approval by lead engineer/engineering manager
  10. Inspect PFMEA's and control plans created by the production plant before final approval and release
  11. Create and manage lessons learned document
  12. Plans, conduct, and leads problem solving sessions when necessary.
  13. Support the safety and environmental programs to ensure a safe work environment for all employees and maintain compliance as well as ISO 14000 registration.
  14. Creates, researches, and determines sustainable solutions in compliance with latest regulations and customer specifications.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
B.S. in mechanical engineering, plus a minimum of 3 relevant experience with automotive product design and development. Thorough knowledge of design, development of mechanical components and systems as well as engineering processes and procedures. Working knowledge of automotive coolant and refrigerant systems design. Basic understanding of test engineering, manufacturing operations. High level of analytical ability. Good knowledge of Air conditioning components and systems is preferred. Advanced knowledge of fundamental solid mechanics, automotive thermal management and/or thermodynamics. Good knowledge of SPC, DFMEA, FEA. Basic knowledge of CAD software (Spinfire, Fusion, Catia) is a plus. Well-developed oral and written communication skills.

Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet applications. Must be familiar with internet research, Microsoft Office software, and the use of e-mail.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
