Full Job Description
SUMMARY

The Texas Region Leader is responsible for leading and growing H.J. Russell & Company's operations in Texas. This role provides overall leadership for the region, including business development, operations, project execution, financial performance, client relationships, and team leadership.

The Texas Region Leader serves as the senior leader for the Texas business and is accountable for driving operational excellence, expanding market presence, developing strong client and industry relationships, and building a high-performing team aligned with the company's values and growth strategy.

This individual must be both a strong business leader and construction operator and be capable of leading teams, driving accountability, developing talent, and positioning the business for long-term growth in the Texas market.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and grow the Texas business with overall responsibility for operational performance, profitability, client satisfaction, and strategic growth
  • Drive business development and strengthen relationships across clients, owners, partners, subcontractors, and industry stakeholders to expand market presence and project opportunities
  • Provide leadership across operations, preconstruction, project execution, and field teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, successfully, and profitably
  • Build and develop a high-performing leadership team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational discipline
  • Partner with executive leadership to establish business strategy, operational priorities, growth objectives, and long-range planning for the region
  • Oversee regional financial performance, including forecasting, backlog, staffing, and overall business results
  • Serve as the senior leader and representative of the business within the Texas market and broader community
  • Champion safety, operational excellence, and alignment with the company's core values, fundamentals, and leadership expectations
  • Drive innovation, process improvement, and technology adoption to improve efficiency and overall business performance

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience within the commercial construction industry
  • Proven experience leading large-scale construction operations, business units, or regional teams
  • Strong business and operational leadership experience, including project execution, financial management, and business development
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong client relationships, lead high-performing teams, and drive business growth
  • Experience managing complex commercial construction projects and multiple project teams
  • Experience within the Texas construction market strongly preferred; joint venture experience a plus
