Full Job Description
We are a journey of continuous growth - now looking for our next star - a passionate Test Engineer. This position reports to Test Engineering Manager and will work in Vancouver, BC.

Vancouver:

Dometic Marine's headquarters are in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. The facility develops and manufactures hydraulic, electronic, and combustion-based products.

About the position

As Test Engineer of the Vancouver team, you will be working in cross functional teams to develop and support electromechanical and hydraulic products that lead the recreational marine industry. You will be involved in the complete development cycle from concept to production. This position takes a hands-on approach to design and implement effective test methods and equipment, create reliable measurement systems, and perform test data and root-cause analysis.

Your main responsibilities
  • Design & implement improvements to product testing (equipment, processes, methods, analysis).
  • Develop new product performance specifications and test methods.
  • Develop and run V&V programs based on product DFMEA, industry standards, customer and internal requirements.
  • Perform, selection, installation, and integration of sensors (pressure, force, strain gauges, displacement, etc.).
  • Prepare and calibrate data acquisition equipment.
  • Collect and correlate field data to lab tests and lab test data. Complete data analysis.
  • Monitor and record multiple tests simultaneously.
  • Prepare reports on the status of tests and analysis of results to the new product launch teams. Ensure data is trustworthy.
  • Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis on tested units and test equipment.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of multi-variable experiments.
  • Complete additional job duties and assignments up to 15% of the time.

The ideal candidate for this role will bring demonstrated success in engineering environment. Additionally, they will have acquired the following qualifications and experiences:
  • University or Institute qualifications in Electro-Mechanical Engineering (A relevant combination of education and experience may also be considered).
  • Ideally, but limited to, 4 years in a R&D environment in test or design capacities

  • Proficient with test equipment, accelerated testing, ladder logic, vibration testing and frequency domain analysis.
  • Previous experience with Creo\Windchill or SolidWorks is an asset.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office programs including: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams; and the ability to learn other applications quickly.
  • Knowledgeable of governing standards regarding test procedures and equipment for ASTM, SAE, ISO and ABYC.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various materials and secondary coatings.
  • Familiar with volume production processes including casting, extrusions, powder metal, injection molding, precision machining sheet metal fabrication, and welding.
