Telemetry Engineer - Missile Defense

Position Overview

Created Solutions, Inc. is seeking a skilled Telemetry Engineer - Missile Defense to support engineering efforts for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Targets and Countermeasures program in Huntsville, Alabama.

In this role, you will support ballistic missile target vehicle development and flight test activities, with a particular focus on vehicle telemetry, data acquisition, telemetry processing, and mission analysis. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation in engineering analysis, programming, and test support and is comfortable working collaboratively across multidisciplinary technical teams.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Targets and Countermeasures program in the development of ballistic missile target vehicles.
  • Contribute to target system design, requirements development and assessment, modeling and simulation, test analysis, and reporting.
  • Support vehicle telemetry and mission analysis for missile defense flight test activities.
  • Configure and operate telemetry data acquisition equipment during test events.
  • Perform telemetry data decommutation, reduction, conversion, and analysis.
  • Generate target vehicle visualizations, situational awareness displays, technical reports, and briefings.
  • Support mission planning, pre-mission analysis, test execution, and post-test reporting.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary technical teams to develop engineering and analysis tools.
  • Apply knowledge of missile physical characteristics, kinematics, signatures, and related engineering principles to technical analyses and data products.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline.
  • 3+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance required.
  • Experience with telemetry, test engineering, data analysis, modeling and simulation, or related technical disciplines.
  • Programming proficiency using MATLAB, Python, Java, C#, or similar languages.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary technical team.


Desired Qualifications
  • Experience supporting MDA and/or other DoD programs and processes.
  • Experience supporting MDA or DoD test events.
  • Experience with telemetry systems and telemetry data processing.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Design/CAD
    • Trajectory analysis
    • Radar Cross Section (RCS) signatures
    • Optical signatures
  • Familiarity with missile vehicle characteristics, kinematics, and performance analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple technical tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to communicate detailed technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
