Full Job Description
JOB OVERVIEW

The Technical Writer is responsible for maintaining/updating various KF Aerospace manuals and the development of new and supplemental documents for current and future design projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Produce OEM manual updates for the Convair CV580 airplane that include: Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogues, Flight Manuals, and Service Bulletins
  • Produce stand-alone supplements to support modification/installations on various aircraft types
  • Maintain good records of publications production
  • Maintain control of manual revision status


JOB REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge & Skills

  • Avionics experience would be a definite asset
  • Work from engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and other source data
  • Interpret OEM avionic documentation into usable text for maintenance and operational manuals
  • Write in AECMA Simplified English
  • Use FrameMaker desk-top publishing software
  • Use Access to produce illustrated parts catalogue databases
  • Use illustration software for annotating illustrated parts list and other illustrations
  • Familiar with ATA 100 and other aerospace publication specifications
  • Familiarity with SGML documentation an asset
  • Produce linked documents in Acrobat for intranet publication

SALARY

The wage band is KF level 9 $74,580-$93,225. The expertise and technical skill level of the candidate is assessed during the selection process for placement within the band. Note: The salary range maximum signifies full job knowledge.
