Full Job Description
A Snapshot of Your Day
As part of Service Engineering, leading technical clarification support for Gas Turbine components. Technical support includes ownership of risk assessments for hot side parts in operation of gas turbines and provide direction to our commercial teams for outage preparation.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Analyze operational data and field findings for early detection of potential systemic problems across the fleet.
  • Support emergent fleet findings (PCM support) and communicate associated risks to commercial teams.
  • Lead root cause analysis investigations for complex gas turbine fleet issues, specifically related to blade and vane components.
  • Develop and document best practices and standardized work instructions for repair-related efforts to manage increased volume.
  • Develop and validate advanced technical solutions and repair strategies for complex mechanical systems.
  • Manage Risk Database. Review current risks and compare them with findings within fleet and recommend updates.
  • Review current status of part life and coordinate life assessments to update part life model. Communicate these updates to affected teams.
  • Interfaces include, but are not limited to, Manufacturing, Field Service, Procurement, LTP, Open Market, Fleet, Design Engineering, Internal and External Customers.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Engineering or related. 10+ years of technical experience; strong technical approach.
  • Experience in gas turbine components, preferred hot side GT components.
  • Will be expected to support an anticipated increase in repair volume, therefore repair and/or turbine design experience is highly preferred.
  • Proficient at collaborating with diverse groups. Ability to effectively work with customers and manufacturing shops.
  • Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Travel up to 20%
