Technical Sales Representative - General Industrial (Preferably located in Tennessee)Schedule: Monday-Friday, 1st Shift
Pay Range:
$80,000 -$120,000 per year (based on experience and qualifications).Position SummaryThe Technical Sales Representative - General Industrial is responsible for representing the company in its effort in obtaining new business, maintaining current business, and providing technical support.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Prospect, sell and service industrial paint coatings.
- Recognize sales opportunities when providing service work and conversely recognize opportunities for technical support when prospecting customers.
- Provide technical education and solutions in the field to customers regarding all aspects of company products.
- Provide account maintenance for current customers including contract negotiations.
- Forecast sales and price adjustments.
- Work with the development team to ensure technical skills are current with regards to existing products and future products in consideration.
- Report all initiatives to supervisor and provide status updates on a regular basis.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements- Education level preferred: bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university. Degree is preferred to be in a Science related field such as Chemistry or Business.
- Experience level preferred: At least three years of technical sales experience in a chemical coatings' environment.
Skills and Abilities- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook), Concur, ERP system, and other office machinery.

- Ability to travel over 50% of the time.
Work Environment & Physical RequirementsPhysical Demands- Regularly required to communicate verbally and audibly in a manufacturing or operational setting.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, and move throughout the work area.
- Regular use of hands and fingers to handle, manipulate, and control objects, tools, or equipment.
- Required to sit, balance, stoop, and occasionally reach above shoulder level.
- Occasional operation of machinery using foot controls
- May be required to climb, balance, and reach overhead as part of job duties.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 65 lbs.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)- Safety shoes, safety glasses, and flame-retardant uniforms or lab coats are required in production areas.
- Respirators and ear plugs are required for specific production processes.
