Full Job Description
As a Technical Program Manager III on this team, you will own the strategy and end-to-end delivery of these programs, coordinating across nine or more engineering teams and four organizations to ensure AWS Finance, Accounting, and executive leadership can make high-quality decisions with confidence and speed. This is a hands-on program leadership role where you will define what gets built, drive prioritization across competing stakeholder needs, and bring clarity to complex, high-stakes financial data problems that process billions of transactions monthly.

The programs you own are directly tied to critical CFO-organization goals: delivering a single trusted source of truth for AWS revenue, improving the accuracy and speed of GAAP financial reporting, and driving revenue consistency down to the individual customer and product level across one of AWS's largest legacy system modernization efforts.

Key job responsibilities

- Own the program strategy, delivery roadmap, and cross-organization execution for unified revenue and actuals programs, defining objectives and measurable success criteria that keep delivery aligned with organizational goals.

- Drive alignment across Finance, Accounting, Engineering, and Sales stakeholders by facilitating decisions, negotiating priorities, and making informed trade-offs between time, effort, and scope to deliver the highest-impact outcomes.

- Coordinate delivery across multiple engineering teams and manage dependencies, milestone tracking, user acceptance testing cycles, production parallel runs, and system cutovers for large-scale financial platform migrations.

- Identify and mitigate risks proactively by reviewing system architectures, data pipeline designs, and cross-team dependencies, ensuring teams reduce exposure to failure modes around data quality, scalability, and auditability.

- Communicate program progress, escalations, and trade-offs through concise written narratives and status updates to senior leadership, translating technical complexity into clear business context.

A day in the life

You start your morning reviewing revenue accuracy metrics and compliance dashboards, then flag items that need attention before the weekly cross-team program sync. Mid-morning, you run that sync with data engineers, finance partners, and delivery managers, aligning on priorities and clearing blockers.

After lunch, you might author an escalation brief for a leadership review, partner with a senior engineer to pressure-test a data pipeline design, or coordinate a production cutover plan with multiple teams. You close out the day updating your risk register and preparing stakeholder communications for an upcoming month-end close cycle.

About the team

AWS Fintech is the financial technology engine behind Amazon Web Services. We build the data systems and reporting platforms that AWS Finance, the CFO organization, and Accounting teams rely on for everything from weekly business reviews to GAAP financial reporting. Our team is in a rare moment of platform consolidation and modernization, unifying daily revenue estimates with monthly actuals, accelerating month-end close timelines, and investing in AI-powered financial operations.

We span four partner organizations, and this role serves as the primary program interface across all of them. If you want to own a program transformation that directly shapes how AWS reports its business and work alongside talented engineers, data scientists, and finance leaders to get there, this is the team for you.
