About the role:
We are building the next generation of solid-state, grid-interactive power blocks that enable high-density, flexible power delivery for datacenters, renewable energy systems, and advanced microgrids. As a Technical Product Manager, you will lead the definition and commercialization of standardized, power-electronics-based modules, translating emerging solid-state transformer (SST) and advanced converter architectures into scalable, deployable products.
This role sits at the intersection of power electronics, grid integration, and real-world infrastructure deployment. You will work closely with engineering, suppliers, software teams, and field execution to ensure products are technically sound, validated, and aligned with customer needs and grid requirements at MW scale and beyond.
Key Responsibilities- Own the product roadmap for pre-engineered solid-state power blocks combining hardware, controls, protection, communications, and software logic
- Define requirements and specifications for advanced power electronics modules, including: Medium-voltage connected converters, Solid-state transformers, DC/DC stages, and Fast-acting protection and isolation schemes
- Lead requirements for DER and inverter-based resource integration, including grid-forming and grid-following behavior, protection coordination, communications, and commissioning workflows
- Align closely with software product management on controllers, EMS, and interoperability features
- Collaborate with hardware suppliers and internal component teams to drive modular, cost-effective, and manufacturable designs
- Coordinate with execution and deployment teams to ensure products reduce engineering effort, installation time, and site-specific customization
- Oversee validation and release cycles, including simulation, bench testing, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and field trials
- Deliver clear documentation and release materials, including schematics, BOMs, communication maps, test plans, and application guidelines
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Controls, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in power electronics engineering, power system design, controls integration, industrial automation, or hardware / controls product management
- Strong understanding of power systems equipment, including switchgear, controllers, sensors, power conversion, and networking hardware
- Experience translating complex engineering requirements into clear, structured product specifications
- Familiarity with DER integration and industrial or grid communication protocols
Ability to work cross-functionally with software teams, hardware suppliers, and field execution teams
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with solid-state transformers, medium-voltage power electronics, or converter-dominated grids
- Background in microgrid deployment, commissioning, or EPC execution
Familiarity with cybersecurity considerations for OT / Industrial Control System environments - Experience with modular or platform-based product architectures
Knowledge of PLM systems, Agile development workflows, and structured validation or release frameworks
