Piper Companies is seeking a Technical Lead / Forward Deployed Engineer to join an established leader in the financial services industry for a permanent hybrid position based in Raleigh, NC. The Technical Lead / Forward Deployed Engineer will serve as a hands-on architecture leader, partnering with business stakeholders and engineering teams to modernize platforms, drive AI-enabled development practices, and deliver highly scalable solutions supporting millions of users in a cloud-based environment.
Responsibilities of the Technical Lead / Forward Deployed Engineer include:
• Design and guide enterprise-scale architecture initiatives, translating business objectives into secure, scalable, and maintainable technical solutions.
• Lead delivery efforts involving cloud platforms, integrations, security, authentication, and application modernization across multiple teams.
• Provide technical mentorship to architects and engineers, establish development standards, and contribute hands-on coding support when needed.
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted engineering tools and workflows, including agent orchestration, prompt optimization, and governance best practices.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, develop proof-of-concepts, and promote reusable frameworks, automation, and operational excellence across the organization.
Qualifications for the Technical Lead / Forward Deployed Engineer include:
• 8+ years of software development experience within cloud-based and distributed enterprise environments, including architecture responsibilities.
• 5+ years of experience designing highly available, low-latency applications supporting large-scale user populations in regulated industries.
• Strong experience with Java and .NET technologies, RESTful services, cloud platforms, DevSecOps practices, and enterprise application modernization.
• Hands-on experience with AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, Atlassian Rovo, or similar platforms, including building agent-based workflows and validating AI-generated solutions.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Compensation for the Technical Lead / Forward Deployed Engineer:
Salary Range: $185,000-$195,000/year (USD)
