Technical Field Advisor II, MechanicalRole OverviewThe Mechanical Technical Field Advisor II will support complex mechanical installations-including gas turbines, steam turbines, large frame generators, and auxiliary equipment-while actively mitigating risk to personnel, equipment, schedule, and cost. Key expectations include supporting injury prevention, fostering a positive site culture, and driving first-time quality to prevent rework.

- Serve as the site-level Mechanical Technical Field Advisor (TFA) for Mitsubishi Power-supplied equipment, providing hands-on support during construction and commissioning.
- Champion safety, equipment protection, and first-time quality, leading JHAs, reinforcing hazard controls, and ensuring installation readiness and required hold points.
- Support planning and execution of high-risk and complex activities, including critical lifts, sensitive installations, and schedule-critical work.
- Partner with EPC and site leadership to ensure safety, quality, installation, and project requirements are met.
- Lead resolution of technical and equipment deficiencies, particularly issues affecting equipment integrity, project cost, schedule, or warranty exposure.
- Support Project Action Requests (PARs) by coordinating responsible parties, escalating concerns, and driving timely resolution.
- Maintain a strong field presence to identify emerging risks, support installers, recommend corrective actions, and prevent rework.
- Ensure timely completion of erection packages, check sheets, mechanical completion walkdowns, punch lists, and required field sign-offs.
- Prepare daily construction and commissioning reports and maintain lessons learned and improvement opportunities for assigned work areas.
- Promote a safe, collaborative, and accountable site culture while complying with EHS requirements, company policies, ethical standards, and required training.
Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred, or equivalent power plant construction experience.
- 3+ years of progressive mechanical field experience supporting large EPC power projects; experience with Mitsubishi Power or comparable OEM GTCC installations preferred.
- OSHA 10-hour training preferred but not required.
- Strong technical communication skills, with the ability to interpret technical procedures, regulations, drawings, and documentation and prepare clear reports and correspondence.
- Ability to communicate effectively with site teams, customers, contractors, and project leadership in a field-based environment.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally and work full-time at project sites for extended assignments of 12-18 months; a valid driver's license and passport are required.
