Full Job Description
As the Technical Accounting and Reporting Manager, you will help establish the financial integrity of a world leader in mobile robotics. You will contribute to Boston Dynamics' short-term accomplishments and long-term goals by driving the evolution of our accounting technology, processes, and documentation, as well as continuous improvement of our processes and controls.

As a key team member within the Finance organization, you will play a key role in elevating and maintaining the Company Accounting Manual, help manage external audit relationships, and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting during a period of significant expansion and strategic shifts. You will collaborate daily with IT, business operations, legal, other accounting team members, and other cross-functional leaders on day-to-day operational matters and strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the technical accounting function in revenue recognition, accounting for leases, stock-based compensation, and other business complexities as they arise.
  • Monitor and assess new accounting pronouncements and support implementation of significant changes.
  • Support the maintenance of the Company Accounting Manual by ensuring operational feasibility and compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in the month-end close and support quarterly consolidation process and IFRS reporting to investors, including independently preparing or reviewing complex journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Support US GAAP and IFRS audit processes, ensuring timeliness and accuracy in deliverables to auditors.
  • Support federal surveys and compliance filings, including the BE-15 for foreign direct investment.
  • Support the partnership with IT and business operations teams to optimize ERP and CRM integrations to continue to automate close processes while maintaining high standards for internal controls.
  • Support the partnership with legal and procurement teams for continuous improvement of the contract review process.
  • Develop and support relationships with cross-functional teams to understand broad goals and provide accounting guidance and best practice recommendations to allow for organization-wide process improvements.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting;
  • CPA or equivalent certification
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in technical accounting, preferably within a high-growth technology or robotics environment.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel experience and a passion for utilizing technology to solve complex problems.
  • Demonstrated history of managing multiple concurrent initiatives and maintaining workflow amidst competing priorities.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex accounting conclusions to Controller-level stakeholders with transparency and clarity.

The base pay range for this position is between $115,000.00 to $130,000.00 annually. Base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This range represents a good-faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Boston Dynamics offers a generous Benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and an annual bonus structure.
