Senior Technical Accountantto join its Finance Department in New York City. This role will be critical in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of the Our Client's financial activities and reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities: - Oversee and support day-to-day accounting activities, including journal entries, bank and account reconciliations, accounts payable, and management reporting.
- Prepare technical accounting papers related to new or existing accounting pronouncements and assess their impact on business initiatives.
- Develop and refine accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Contribute to the preparation of financial statements, interim reports, annual reports, and debt offerings.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
- Assist in managing internal and external audits.
Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
- Minimum of five years of accounting experience in the financial services industry.
- Public accounting experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP principles and practices.
- Experience with hedge accounting, consolidations, and special purpose vehicles (SPVs) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Oracle products and SaaS treasury platforms such as Reval is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
