Full Job Description
We are seeking a Team Leader - Security to join our team and support our client. The ideal candidate is a proactive security-focused technical leader who understands how to embed compliance, endpoint protection, and operational discipline into enterprise IT support. This individual combines hands-on technical knowledge with the leadership skills needed to guide teams, improve controls, and protect critical environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead security-related support activities within Tier 3 back-end support and engineering operations.
  • Support security compliance, reporting, audit response, and operational implementation activities across the environment.
  • Coordinate efforts related to endpoint protection, permissions, device security, and local security configurations.
  • Partner with technical teams and stakeholders to strengthen security posture and align support activities with organizational requirements.
  • Support documentation, process improvement, and reporting related to security operations and compliance tasks.
  • Contribute to root cause analysis, change management, and technical planning efforts where security considerations are essential.

Work Experience and Job Skills:
  • Strong experience supporting enterprise security operations, local security controls, or security compliance functions in an IT operations environment.
  • Knowledge of security reporting, audit support, endpoint security tools, and technical controls.
  • Ability to collaborate across operational and engineering teams in support of secure service delivery.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in support of technical and compliance-related activities.

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree is required. Preferred field of study in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field of study.
  • MBA/Master's Degree in a relevant field of study preferred.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:
  • Desired certifications may include CISSP, Security+, ITIL, or other credentials relevant to enterprise security and compliance support.

Communication Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, ability to present proposals and performance data, comfortable interfacing all levels of organization.
  • Ability to write clear and concise creative content in a highly confidential manner.

Clearance Requirements:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Travel:
  • Local travel within a 50-mile radius of NIH Bethesda, Maryland is not reimbursable.
  • On occasion, travel may be required of Contractor personnel and, if approved in advance by the Contracting Officer, may be reimbursed in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations.
  • Work may be performed at Government facilities, remote locations, or approved employee work locations in support of Government operations.

Environmental Requirements:
  • Mainly a routine office environment.
  • May be required to lift up to ten (10) pounds
  • Flexible in working extended hours
