Tax Senior Associate
This role offers the opportunity to work on complex tax compliance and consulting engagements, mentor and develop staff, and perform first-level reviews, all while collaborating closely with teammates to deliver high-quality service and value to clients.
Tax is a core service line at BT and one of the firm's largest and most established practices. Our tax professionals serve a diverse client base that includes privately held middle-market companies, high-net-worth individuals, and organizations with complex, multi-state and international tax needs.
As a
Tax Senior Associate, you will play a key role on engagement teams, taking ownership of complex tax preparation and consulting projects, guiding and training Staff on foundational engagements, and providing detailed first-level reviews. Responsibilities:- Accurately prepares complex S-Corporation, C-Corporation, partnership, multistate and individual tax returns
- Efficiently reviews tax returns from Staff as a first reviewer
- Prepares and reviews income tax projections and estimate calculations for clients
- Accurately performs research and writes technical memorandum in a readable format
- Researches and prepares work papers for various book to tax differences
- Identifies area of specialization and is continuously refining skills, knowledge and expertise
- Develops effective working relationships with clients and firm associates
- Can identify potential tax issues during planning of engagement
- Communicates with the IRS and other state authorities in a professional manner when applicable
- Confidently responds to federal and state notices
- Mentors Staff and Interns on return review notes
- Maintains open communication with management regarding the progress of completion on project.
- Participates actively in training and developmental opportunities, both as an attendee and as a facilitator.
Qualifications: - Undergraduate degree required; Master's preferred
- 3+ years of tax experience is required
- Advanced knowledge of Federal and Georgia income tax laws and principles of individual and business taxation is required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence
- Proven time management, organizational and prioritization skills
