We are currently seeking a Tax Operations Business Analyst to join our team in New York, New York (US-NY), United States (US).

Tax Operations Business Analyst role will be a part of the client team that operates as a Business Analytics function within Tax Operations, bridging business, tax, and technology. It works closely with business stakeholders, tax lawyers/advisors, and external engineering teams to deliver change initiatives. The team is heavily involved in analyzing backend transaction data and attributes, particularly in support of tax classification and reporting.
A key part of the role is to translate business and tax requirements into detailed functional specifications for engineering implementation. This includes modifying and maintaining data attributes-such as updating classifications (e.g., dividend-related attributes)-in line with tax rules and business needs. The role also involves identifying patterns in transaction data and grouping similar transactions logically to support accurate tax treatment.
Tax Operations Business Analyst will work from client office in NYC - 5 days a week.
- Develop detailed functional requirement documents capturing business logic and tax rules.
- Perform data analysis and pattern recognition on upstream transaction data.
- Collaborate with tax advisory teams to correctly classify financial transactions.
- Work with engineering teams to ensure accurate implementation of requirements.
- Support testing activities including validation of business logic and outcomes.
- Proven experience in data analysis and transaction processing within financial systems
- Ability to identify patterns, anomalies, and relationships in complex datasets, and define data mapping logic
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (Business, Tax Advisory, Engineering)
- Exposure to testing frameworks , UAT, and regression testing methodologies
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
- 8+ years of BA experience in Financial Domain
- 5+ years of experience in Tax Ops- including documentation (W-8/W-9 or equivalent), withholding tax (WHT), and reporting
- 4+ years of SQL
- Familiarity with rule engines and decision modeling tools (Drools, Signavio DMN)
- Bachelor's Degree

Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this hybrid role is $127,890 - $170,520.This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position in the New YorkCity area. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance.
