Full Job Description
A well-established private equity real estate investment firm is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join its growing in-house tax team. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong public accounting tax professional with significant real estate tax experience who is ready to transition into an established, sophisticated real estate organization.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in real estate taxation, partnership tax, multi-state compliance, and federal income tax preparation. This person will have the opportunity to work directly with a complex portfolio of real estate entities while taking on meaningful responsibility and becoming a key member of the tax function.

Location: Delray Beach, FL (Fully Onsite)
Compensation: $160,000-$200,000 + Comprehensive Benefits (flexible depending on experience)

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review complex federal and state income tax returns for partnerships, LLCs, corporations, trusts, and other real estate entities.
  • Manage multi-state tax compliance, including PTET, withholding, composite filings, estimated payments, and related state requirements.
  • Oversee and review tax workpapers and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Research complex technical tax matters and analyze the impact of new tax legislation.
  • Respond to federal and state tax notices and assist with audits and examinations as needed.
  • Partner closely with accounting and finance teams on tax reporting, planning, and compliance matters.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior tax and accounting professionals.
  • Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, efficiency, and compliance procedures.
  • Participate in tax planning initiatives and other special projects.
  • Serve as a key internal resource on real estate-specific tax matters.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required.
  • 7+ years of public accounting tax experience.
  • Strong, direct commercial real estate tax experience is required.
  • Strong partnership tax experience, including preparation and review of partnership returns.
  • Multi-state tax experience, including PTET and related state compliance.
  • Strong understanding of federal income tax and real estate entity structures.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Yardi experience is a plus.
  • Strong technical tax research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
