Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage complex tax engagements, including individual, trust, estate, and gift tax returns
- Serve as a trusted advisor to high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts, and estates, providing proactive tax planning and consulting services
- Research, analyze, and resolve complex tax issues while identifying planning opportunities and practical solutions for clients
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, meeting with clients and prospects to understand their needs and identify value-added services
- Prepare, review, and sign tax returns and work products to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with professional standards
- Manage engagement workflow, staffing, timelines, and project deliverables to ensure exceptional client service and timely completion
- Maintain strong realization on revenue billed with a target goal of 90% or above; Complete billing on time and target billing above 80% of beginning WIP
- Mentor, develop, and train team members while fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture
- Contribute to firm growth through business development, client retention, and cross-selling opportunities
- Monitor engagement performance, billing, and profitability to support the success of both clients and the firm
- Stay current on tax law developments and leverage technology and AI-enabled tools to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and client service
Ideal Manager candidate has:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- CPA required with appropriate equivalent work experience
- 5+ years experience in practice area (individuals, trusts, & estates) with demonstrated leadership capabilities
- Proficient in advanced MS-Excel functions
- Strong quantitative analysis and critical thinking skills, with a focus on improvement and automation
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative spirit and adaptability to change

Additional Information:
At Abdo, we are committed to providing fair, transparent, and competitive compensation that reflects the unique skills and experiences of each candidate. The estimated base pay range for this role is $95,000 - $130,000. Offers are typically made below the maximum to allow room for future compensation increases in the role. The compensation offer will be based on factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications, skills, and business needs.
All employees have the opportunity to earn discretionary bonuses based on demonstration of extraordinary performance, special projects of significant importance, or other major accomplishments. Managers are also eligible for a manager bonus program which is awarded based on the consideration of individual contributions, team accomplishments, and firm growth.
