About the RoleThe Tactical Opportunities Analyst is an integral part of Latham's Global Finance team. This role will be responsible for taking the lead to identify and research a range of strategic and market opportunities across a range of asset classes and sectors that interlink with several practice areas including M&A, private equity, capital markets, banking, and finance, while working closely with the Directors and Managers of the team to identify market events that will impact the firm and its clients. This role will be located in our New York office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
Responsibilities & QualificationsOther key responsibilities include:
- Performing analysis and adapting it to different industries and products as priorities shift based on macro-economic and market dynamics
- Brainstorming market themes as part of the team, actively contributing ideas and developing others'
- Designing and executing quantitative and qualitative analysis on broad market themes down to single-name analysis, across different industries and products
- Supporting team projects as needed
- Engaging with key stakeholders to embed the team's reputation and work output through the firm and clients
- Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains
We'd love to hear from you if you:

- Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
And have:
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent, with a finance or economics component, preferably
- A minimum of six (6) months of full-time professional work experience (excluding internships) in finance, investment, consulting, and advisory
