Job Overview & ResponsibilitiesBecome one of the most sought-after test engineers in the country. Participate in various forms of testing for United Launch Alliance. The Pueblo Prop Shop is ULA's primary testing facility. Here, we design and conduct critical development and qualification tests for components and systems used in orbital launch vehicles and the Vulcan rocket.
Tests you will be a part of include:
- Structural Testing
- Dynamic Testing (Shock and Vibration)
- Cryogenic Compatibility Testing
- High Pressure Pneumatics and Flow Testing
- Destructive Non-Destructive Testing
- Electrical Testing
Opportunities to gain project management, test engineering, and leadership experience will come from the following responsibilities.
- Candidates will be expected to work as a part of a team to design and achieve test goals.
- Gathering requirements from assigned tests from both paper documents and coordination with test directors/customers.
- Developing test setups that satisfy those requirements and mimic the flight like conditions that the Test Article may experience during the Vehicles flight to Orbit.
- Tests can span from a few weeks to several months depending on the size and complexity, requiring each engineer to balance between hands on work (test setup build and testing) and conceptual design and team management to succeed.
- Apply technical engineering knowledge and expertise in the completion of all aspects of an identified project, including technological considerations, cost/financial administration, and schedule management
- Be part of a production environment, assembling and testing flight hardware to verify functionality, workmanship, find anomalies and non-conformances, and ensure the product will work in flight as intended by the design.

Basic QualificationsBasic Qualifications:
- Engineering or Science Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Industrial or similar
- CAD 3D Modeling Experience NX/Autodesk/Solidworks
- Pneumatics or Hydraulics Knowledge
- Statics and Dynamics Knowledge
- Basic Electrical Knowledge
- Blue Print technical Drawing Experience
Preferred QualificationsPreferred Qualifications:
- Cryogenics Experience (Liquid Nitrogen, Hydrogen or Oxygen)
- Previous Test Lab Experience
- Structural Analysis
- Thermodynamics Knowledge
- Advanced Electrical
- Programming/Coding (C++, Python, Labview)
- Previous experience using Instrumentation, Transducers, and Data Acquisition systems such as the following:
- Pressure, Load Cells, Strain Gages, LVDT, Thermocouples, RTDs
- Dewetron, Dewesoft, National Instruments Data Collection Systems
Summary Salary Range (for ULA - Puebloonly): $64,740.00 - $107,900.00
