Job Description

We are seeking a Systems Engineer who possesses a passion for people and technology with experience in support, consulting, or a comparable field. You love driving implementations of IT infrastructure such as virtualization, enterprise hardware/software, networking, and cloud computing.

Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with clients to provide regular updates on projects.
  • Work in our ticketing and project management system to respond to clients based within SLAs.
  • Provide internal escalation support on client issues.
  • Translate clients' requests into clearly defined projects.
  • Develop solutions tailored to solve clients' issues.
  • Implement highly-available server/networking/storage infrastructure.
  • Audit and implement security best practices across a wide range of devices and services.
  • Support backup and disaster recovery infrastructure.


Qualifications

Technology Requirements

Deep knowledge, direct experience, and/or ownership of:
  • Windows Server : 2008+, Virtualization, DNS, AD, Group Policy, DHCP, File Server, PowerShell.
  • Windows Client : Windows 7+, Deployment, Bitlocker.
  • Apple : 10.10+ management/support.
  • Networking : Internet connectivity, Wi-Fi, IPv4, VLANs, NAT, Firewalls, DHCP, DNS.
  • Microsoft Cloud/Server : Exchange, SQL, Office 365.
  • Client Software : Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, OneNote, Outlook, Lync/Skype4B).
  • Server/Storage Hardware : Dell/HP/Intel/Lenovo Servers, RAID.
  • Unified Communications : PBX.
  • Backup/Recovery/DR : WAN backups and replication expertise.


Preferred Experience/Expertise

  • 5-10+ years' experience working in support, consulting, or a comparable field.

  • Linux Server OS : Linux (primarily CentOS, and Ubuntu). Key-pair logins, SSH, PuTTY, etc., Linux/Unix
  • Server/Storage Hardware : Dell/HP/Intel/Lenovo/DataOn/SuperMicro Servers/Storage, BMC/IPMI Management, SAN, NAS, SAS JBODs, SSDs, Hybrid Storage, RAID, iSCSI.
  • Unified Communications : Lync/Skype Enterprise Voice, Exchange UM, Polycom phone, SIP trunks, TDM trunks.
  • Miscellaneous : Software Licensing, Regulatory compliance, application and system monitoring.


General Skills and Requirements
  • Strong customer service skills required.
  • Candidate must be able to scale communication to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience with time tracking and time management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow client and internal procedures.
  • Must own reliable vehicle for travel within the Greater Seattle area.
  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
