Systems Engineer (Lead)

Location: Kirtland AFB, NM, 87417
Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Engineer (Lead) to join our team at Kirtland Air Force Base. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading systems engineering efforts, with a strong background in SEAMS and working within Air Force Base (AFB) environments. This role requires a proactive leader who can manage complex systems engineering projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure successful delivery of mission-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage systems engineering activities throughout the system lifecycle, from concept development through deployment and sustainment.
  • Apply SEAMS (Systems Engineering and Management System) methodologies to ensure compliance with Air Force standards and best practices.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders at Kirtland AFB and other Air Force entities to define system requirements and ensure alignment with mission objectives.
  • Develop and maintain system architectures, interface control documents, and technical data packages.
  • Oversee risk management, verification and validation, and configuration management processes.
  • Mentor and guide junior systems engineers and technical staff.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for leadership and external customers.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Systems Engineer Lead, preferably within a military or Air Force Base environment.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with SEAMS methodologies and tools.
  • Familiarity with Air Force Base operations, standards, and security requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
