Systems Engineer (Lead)

Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated
Systems Engineer (Lead) to join our team at Kirtland Air Force Base. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading systems engineering efforts, with a strong background in SEAMS and working within Air Force Base (AFB) environments. This role requires a proactive leader who can manage complex systems engineering projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure successful delivery of mission-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage systems engineering activities throughout the system lifecycle, from concept development through deployment and sustainment.
- Apply SEAMS (Systems Engineering and Management System) methodologies to ensure compliance with Air Force standards and best practices.
- Coordinate with stakeholders at Kirtland AFB and other Air Force entities to define system requirements and ensure alignment with mission objectives.
- Develop and maintain system architectures, interface control documents, and technical data packages.
- Oversee risk management, verification and validation, and configuration management processes.
- Mentor and guide junior systems engineers and technical staff.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for leadership and external customers.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Proven experience as a Systems Engineer Lead, preferably within a military or Air Force Base environment.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with SEAMS methodologies and tools.
- Familiarity with Air Force Base operations, standards, and security requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead cross-functional teams effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Active security clearance or ability to obtain one is required
